This is a time of abundance. When we were at Andrew's parent's house, they gave us their old scanner. Apparently their printer went kablooey, so they bought a fancy new thing that prints, scans, copies, washes the dishes, and feeds the dog. So they gave us their old one. Since we don't have (and won't for a very long time) a digital camera, at least this way I can scan in photos.
Not that I have a server to put them on so you can all see them. But one thing at a time, I mean really! :P
Then, yesterday when we were leaving the apartment, our across-the-way neighbours told us they were moving, and did we want any of their stuff? So we appropriated a coffee table, an old metal table, and two 70's style bright sea-green and blue striped chairs. Sweet!
The old metal table is now in the workroom. The old small coffee table is holding the new-to-us scanner, so the old coffeetable, which is a nice long one, is in front of the futon-couch. It's ugly yellow particle board and metal, but I'm going to cover it, and it'll be lovely. One of the chairs is in the living room, the other in the work room. I haven't decided whether to cover them or not - they're kind of cool, but don't quite match the decor.
And then yesterday we went to Chapters to spend the $50 in gift cards that my Dad had sent us for Christmas. I wandered through there for AGES. It felt so weird to spend full price on books, that I just couldn't get into it. Andrew got a couple of sci-fi and fantasy books to finish series' that he has, and a Clearance book about an Anarchist rock group and stuff they went through. I found a GREAT home decorating book in the Clearance section, for $15, with $200 projects that they explain how to do - EVERY PROJECT. AND, they're mostly cheap, stuff you can do with tin cans and newspapers and potato stamps and string and such. It may not SOUND terrific, but it really really is! Very exciting - or at least, to me. And I got a 3 in 1 Spider Robinson book - 3 Callahans Salloon novels in one. It's a good addition to our collection, AND Andrew hasn't read them yet. Sounds good to me.
So life is good. I'm feeling very lucky, very much like the universe is giving much to me right now.
so
Thank you.
