We had a really good weekend.

On Friday, we decided to put the couch down into bed form, and I fell asleep around 7:30 while Andrew watched Akira on the computer. Apparently something happened right at the end, so he didn't get to watch it all, which kind of sucks, but it was really nice to sleep in the living room. We stayed and slept there all night.

It kind of felt like camping! The cats were pretty happy too, although there were a few hours in the early morning where Bear-cat just would NOT stop climbing up on us and trying to sleep on my hip or side or chest or whatever. I mean, it would be fine if he could sneak up on us... but he's such a clumsy boy cat, that it always wakes me up. I prefer when he cuddles up to me instead.

I ended up getting 13 hours of sleep. I obviously needed it. I can't remember the last time I slept more than 8 hours.

On Saturday we hemmed and hawed for awhile before decided to go roam around Commercial drive for awhile. We needed to pick up some items anyway, and decided hey, why not do it while window shopping at the same time?

(window shopping, you see, is ok for my moral constitution since it entails looking and day dreaming, and not actually buying)

I made vegan oatmeal pancakes from a recipe book instead of from my family recipe, and they were ok... except the recipe called for far too much salt. It wasn't a big deal, once you put maple syrup on them... but next time I'm going to use less salt. They smelled good, though, and it was the first time I'd ground up oats to make oat flour, and that makes a really nice heavy pancake that reminds me of big oatmeal cookies.

That night we played videogames at Playdium for a while (we had a leftover card from when we moved here), then went to see Big Fish, which I loved. I think I cried for a full 5 minutes at the end, all sniffly and pathetic. It's a beautiful movie, worth seeing, I heartily recommend it.

(Andrew looked at me afterwards and said "I love you so much" and I sniffled and said "why?" and he said "Because you're so damn cute")

Yesterday was a wonderful day wherein I did everything I wanted to do, and it still seemed to last forever. We stayed around at home, Andrew worked on an assignment, I read for awhile, did my hour of cardio and a back/chest/arms weight lifting session, had a long bath, made a Greek Salad with Faux Feta made from tofu (which is QUITE good, I might add), and made spinach crepes for dinner.

I like having the tv on in the workout room while I lift weights, because it keeps pieces of my brain busy while the rest of me concentrates on form and power and whatnot. But I can't have anything TOO interesting on, because then I won't work out as strongly, or will hurt my neck craning to see the tv while I'm working out, or whatever. (As opposed to when I'm doing my cardio, when I need the most interesting thing available on, so I can just get into the groove and forget about it) But the best thing I could find that was on tv (on one of our 5 channels) on a Sunday afternoon was a HARLEQUIN MOVIE. And also, sadly, one that I'd seen the beginning to, years ago. Too funny. Well, it worked, anyway.

And now, today, here I am at work. Ah, yes. Work.

This week I should be able to discuss my contract renegotiation with these folks. I will be glad to have it over with.
