EEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!

We have had THE idea.

We scrapped all our plans. They were getting so far away from what we wanted, so far away from who we are. We revisited what we REALLY want - the important parts:

1. outside outside outside
2. party
3. home-cooked food

And revisited our very first ideas, to see what we could work around and if we could come close to what we want.

And we have planned, and started telling people. WE HAVE A PLAN!

Assuming we can get the dates we want, we're going to have it at Manning Park , we're going to rent the Last Resort (scroll to the end of the page) for everyone who wants to stay in the same building (we already got confirmation from 4 couples and Cam, and of course ourselves - if we can find only 26 people including ourselves, it's $23 per person per night), and then there are plenty of options for other people - camping, lodge rooms, cabins, etc.

Manning Park is about a 3 hour drive from Vancouver, so people can meet up in Vancouver, rent a car, and drive down together, or they can take a greyhound, for only $70 round trip (and you can get a companion fare if you buy 14 days ahead of time!).

Manning park is gorgeous. Andrew and I went camping there in August of 2002. It's stunning. We climbed Frosty mountain, and walked by Lightning lake... I want to share the beauty with my friends and family - the majority of whom do not like camping any more, if they ever did. So this big house thing is PERFECT.

There's a big kitchen and such, so if it DOES rain, we can have the ceremony and reception inside. We'll be able to prepare all the food, and we'll stay the weekend, and we can go hiking and stuff the day after!

Dishes are going to be disposable. No centerpieces. We'll still dress up. Money from family will pay for food for the weekend, a car rental for us, maybe, and maybe even subsidizing the rental of the Last Resort, so we can rent it for the night before, as well, even if we don't have the 26 people capacity.

I am SO HAPPY YOU HAVE NO IDEA!!!

Having "A PLAN" must be so neat. I like your ideas...especially how practical that you can move indoors if you need to.
