our very first rsvp card!
Mar. 22nd, 2004 02:21 pmAndrew just called me, we just got our first RSVP card!
And what's even neater, is it's from my Uncle and his SO, who I really did not expect to get to my wedding. I like my Uncle, he drinks a lot, he's a little crude (but then again, that entire side of my family is) but he's a nice guy. So is his SO.
So now we have 2 official RSVPs (ignoring people we have already been told will be there for sure - i.e. immediate family and best friends).
woohoo! Too much fun!
Now I have to find a way to tell my uncle that the reception is alcohol-free...

Date: 2004-03-22 02:57 pm (UTC)But originally we wanted alcohol free because we don't drink all that often, my grandfather is a recovering alcoholic and my mother is a mean drunk, his family rarely drinks (a glass of wine with dinner perhaps), and it didn't really make sense to have a vegan dinner (ever so good for your body) and then to have alcohol, which is much less good for your body. For a while we thought maybe wine with dinner would be nice, but the public park has necessitated we don't have that either.
I'm looking forward to having an alcohol-free wedding, but pretty much all of my mother's brothers are very big drinkers. I didn't expect any of them to show!
I think that's pretty crappy of your mother-in-law. People who veto other people's decisions about their special days kinda suck.
