Good times!
So yesterday I left work early, picked up a surprise present for Andrew (Warcraft III), and wrapped it on the way to meet him.
I also found him the cutest card EVAR, with a picture on the front, of a very cute puppy looking all sad, lying down with it's head between it's paws. Inside it said "without you, I'm one sad puppy."
SO CUTE.
Anyway, I met him at the thrift store, and we went out to West 4th, getting there just as it started raining, and had a leisurely late lunch at a vegetarian Indian place there. Until just the end of our meal, we had the whole place to ourselves. We had Palak Paneer and Malai Kofta, with naan and rice and salad and vegetable samosas to start, and chai to finish.
Le YUM.
That was really nice, just hanging out there and being leisurely about the whole thing. Often we don't hang around the dinner table, we end up springing up to do something, so when we get a chance to, it's really nice to just chillax.
Andrew's family tends to stay around the dinner table and talk for long times after dinner. It's really enjoyable. He and I do that about once or twice a week, usually on weekends. Always pleasant...
So yeah. Good food and comfortable company.
Afterwards we wandered around 4th. We finished picking up the housewarming present for my friend and her boi, who move in together next week, and wandered around a little bit, and then ended up at Zulu records to look at their used section.
Oh Zulu records, how I love thee.
There's a REALLY GOOD REASON WHY I DON'T GO IN THERE.
So 45 minutes, 2 double CDs and 3 single CDs later, we walked out quite happy. In particular, I got a "Dinner Party Jazz" compilation, Goldfrappe's "Felt Mountain", and this great asian breakbeat fusion CD by Joi. Andrew got a Crass double CD and a You Shall Know Us by the Trail of Dead CD.
SuhWEET.
And then we went home, and watched American Idol (ok, turned American Idol on, and read while it was on), and ate copious amounts of sweets that his mother made us, and croissants.
Later, I had a bath and Andrew played Warcraft.
This morning he thanked me for a wonderful birthday.
I said "You deserve the world!"
And he said "I already have it. Her name is Lisa."
