I fixed the internet last night. I so r0xx0r.

\m/

Basically, I came home, went online to check the recipe we were making last night from The Post Punk Kitchen, and got an "Error 691" when trying to dial in.

Now, as a former tech support lackey, I've dealt with this issue before. But all the fixes I tried (including creating a new connection, and uninstalling and reinstalling the modem, and even calling my old place of business down in Albuquerque to see if they had any new ideas) didn't work.

As a last ditch effort, I decided to create a new connection through internet options instead of through network connections. I mean really, there was no reason it should work...

but it did!

w00t!

I felt all cool and stuff for a whole half hour, after that.

Andrew picked up a bunch of record albums, including the Beatles White Album, yesterday at the store, so while I was fixing the computer (yup, uh huh, that was ME), he set up his record player, and we listened to the BEATLES all night. Too cool.

At any rate, dinner was delicious. Tofu marinated in a ginger mango sauce, with strips of red pepper and mango, over brown basmati, with a side of garlic swiss chard.

Mmmmmmm nummy.

However, I was a real bitch last night. It came out of NOWHERE. And usually I can find a reason for it, but I can't quite figure this one out. I bitched out Andrew this morning, too.

He doesn't deserve my bitchhood.

I was so bitchy, I'm worried about my health or my hormones or being pregnant (which doesn't really make sense, as a) I'm on the pill b) I was so worried on the weekend for different reasons that I took a test and c) I am having my freaking period RIGHT NOW) or SOMETHING. I was so bitchy, Andrew asked me if I was ok. I mean, I was BITCHY.

And it doesn't help that when I went to do my workout, my cardio was fine, but when I went to do my legs workout, I was shaking TOO HARD TO WORK OUT. I actually skipped my workout, and just stretched instead.

Yeah, so now I feel like crap, plus I'm scared. Great combo.

We have (we think), a commissioner for the actual legal part of the whatzit. We've emailed her, and now we're basically just waiting for her response.

Our plan is to have the legal part of the whatzit on July 17th - the day of the party with friends, and the day of the new moon - basically, the day we wanted to be our official day.

The ceremony on the 18th will be just us, affirming our life vows to each other, in front of family and friends.

Ooooh it's April. This month we order our rings! Hand made by a local jeweler. Mucho cool. We already know the jeweler, and we've been there twice (well, they have 2 stores, we've been to each store once), and we're pretty sure we know what we want. Now we just need to take the leap.

So, Jello Biafra is coming to town on April 21st. I've already seen him twice, but I'd like to see him again - what he talks about changes with the politics, and since the politics are the way they are... well, I think he'd be fantastic.

He's always good about trying to give the best bang for the buck, too - last time Andrew and I saw him, we ended up leaving before he did. It had been 3 1/2 hours, and he said "I'm just going to go pee, I'll be right back and talk some more", and Andrew and I were hungry and tired, so...

So yeah.

We wanna go.

So I checked the weekly indie paper, and it said "Tickets available at TicketMaster". I don't like using ticketmaster, but I thought, welllll, for Jello, maybe.

So I went online.

Ok, what the FUCK has ticketmaster been doing??

17.50 is the ticket price.
1.50 "location fee"
5.50 "convenience fee"
3.50 LOWEST AVAILABLE fee to actually GET YOUR TICKETS????

yes, that's a total of 10.50 in extra fees. Um. no.

So I apologized to Andrew, but there was no way I was going to buy tickets from ticketmaster.

Luckily, I looked through the paper again, and in a different ad, in small print, it said "tickets also available at Zulu and Scratch". Zulu is the CD store I love so much - I'll be going there this weekend to pick up some tickets for sure.

Stop buying tickets from ticketmaster, people. Those fees are outrageous!!

You do cardio and then lift weights? No wonder you had problems with your legs; your cardio is tiring you out. The best option is to warm up for a few minutes, lift weights, then do cardio to finish. Your workout will raise your blood pressure so you will not have to do as much cardio afterwards to raise it to 80% of your maximum. You will also be able to lift more, thereby increasing muscle mass (which, as you know, will help decrease fat levels), than you would if you started with cardio.

Thanks, but this works really well for me usually. I've been doing it long enough that I know what's usual and not usual for my body's reactions, and I also tend to modify slightly based on how I'm feeling. In short - I have confidence in the plan that I'm following.

I just do 30 minutes of cardio on lifting days, as a warm up. It's long enough to warm up nicely before lifting, and not too long to tire me out. I do an hour on non-lifting days.

It wasn't my legs that gave me problem, it was my entire body. Shaky like I'd been vomitting a lot or something.

Although, to be fair, I do appreciate what you're saying, and I'm always looking for new ways to work out. There's a very good chance I'll try this!

Well, we're all entitled to BITCHINESS once in a while. Men included. I'm sure he has his days too. (I know I accuse my husband of ragging at least once a month!) Hope you feel betterer soon. :)
