customer what?
Apr. 15th, 2004 10:04 amI hate bad customer service.
Last night I discovered our internet providor has been billing us DOUBLE for the last 4 months.
I called them today. Apparently they had set up one of our email addresses as a second dial up account. Fuck them all to hell, anyway. I have the email where I straightened them out on that (I THOUGHT), in my saved messages at home, 4 fucking months ago.
I'm so irritated that their help desk never RESPONDS to emails, letting people know when things have been completed, to double check that things are good. But they charge $4.95/technical call, so I've been avoiding calling ever (billing calls ARE free, though).
Growl.
Anyway.
They made the change, so we're (apparently) good from now on. I will definitely be checking the next charge on my card.
So they have to send my refund request to the refund department, which is apparently going to take 6 - 8 fucking weeks before it gets back to us. What the fuck EVER.
I am in a REALLY pissy mood today. Send chocolate. And a puppy.

Date: 2004-04-15 10:31 am (UTC)I read something in the paper yesterday about how the government is going to ban pornographic images or lewd text from the body of spam emails. Yeah, right. That's going to be about as easy as stopping spam altogether.
My poor hubby, he reports a lot of spam so the spammers get pissed at him and use his address as the return address for new spam. He get's so much junk email it's frigtening.
Anyhoo, I got it and sent you mail.

Date: 2004-04-15 10:52 am (UTC)I have an email address I use for things that ask for it, so that spam can go there. If this had been a friends only entry, I would have left my original comment - the main reason I deleted it is because my ex, who shows remarkable tenacity to get in touch with me, is on lj, and is friends with people I am friends with, and I really don't want him getting the address.
Thank you for the puppy pictures!!!!!!! You did put a smile on my face. I think the bum one is my favourite. She's the cutest. :D

You're welcome. Aren't puppy bums adorable? I like to call that her "belly with legs" phase.

Date: 2004-04-15 12:04 pm (UTC)I don't mind their overall poor customer service in general - I figure, I used to work as a tech for an ISP, so I know how to fix my dial up if it goes wrong, so that's not a problem. And I figured, once we got our email addresses set up, and the account set up, that it wouldn't be much we'd have to deal with afterwards, so it's worth the 9.95 a month. After all, 9.95 plus tax for unlimited dial up internet with 5 email addresses is pretty good (and pretty much all we can afford).
Partially it's my fault. The first 3 months they didn't bill me until December, and then there was a 30someodd dollar charge on the bill. I called them to ask about it, and they said it was just those months all lumped together. Since then, ever since I saw the double amount, instead of checking, I assumed it was for 2 months. I should have been watching more carefully. Either way, I'm more calm now.
