monday night...
Apr. 27th, 2004 10:09 amLast night went quickly.
Had a long talk with Cam, which was good. He's holding up all right. This is the tough week, with his ex-boy still living in the condo. It's hard to move on when you're living in limbo.
I offered to come down for a weekend. I don't have the money laying around or anything, but I think I can get down there for less than $400. Friends are definitely more important than debt repayment, and it won't put me FURTHER into debt. He's got other friends near, and it's hard for him to say how he's going to be feeling once the ex-boy actually leaves. Right now he says he'll just call me lots. I'm game for that.
He's also got a good plan to completely redecorate and rearrange the condo once the ex-boy moves out. I think that's a great idea. And of course, the added bonus is that decorating and arranging is fun.
I wish we lived in the same city again. Or that teleportation was cheap and available.
Then Andrew and I watched the third matrix movie. I had to do my cardio too, so we originally started watching in the work-out room, but our damn DVD player wouldn't give us high enough volume to hear over the ellipse.
So after 15 minutes of "What?" "I dunno" "I can't hear it" "I can't hear it either" we moved to the living room, and Andrew reclined on the futon while I jumped around and ran on the spot and did jumping jacks and other funny dances to keep my heart rate up for the rest of the hour, as we watched from the beginning again.
The cardio part was super fun. The movie, however... well... sucked.
I really liked the first matrix. Was pleased with the second, too, even though there was a lot of complaints from friends about it. But the third... every. single. scene. was overly dramatic. Gods. The action wasn't that interesting, except the one scene just before the frenchmans club. And it was predictable as SHIT. I predicted scenes, he quoted lines before they happened. So all in all... I was bored. Some of it was neat-looking, though, to be fair.
If I'd wanted something that I knew what was going to happen, however, I'd have put in one of my favourites, and watched that instead. At least then I'd have enjoyed the nostalgia that came along with.
Not to say I had a bad time. It was good to get closure on the series, and like I said, there were pretty bits. And we watch lots of bad action films, and lots of bad sci fi... after all, we tend to LIKE that. And having something like that to watch helps keep the cardio going.
And that's it for now.

you should send him some montreal love for me, and tell him that if he feels like he want's to get away he's welcome to stay here for a bit.
