Yup, 33 minutes to the skytrain station. That won't cut into the workday, so now I can walk each morning. Excellent.

I worked for a bit more than 3 1/2 hours yesterday - then went to the Superstore and found cute pressed tin vases (in bright blue and purple) for the reception, and then updated our registry at the Bay. Or rather, tried to - at least I removed some discontinued items, but added and subsequently deleted the newly added items several items otherwise. I just wasn't into it. The only thing I'd really wanted to add to the registry was a vacuum cleaner, but couldn't find anything appropriate that was less than $150. When Andrew gets back we're going to thrift store hunt for a vacuum anyway.

Yesterday evening Bear jumped out the kitchen window. Fucker!! He ripped through the screen and jumped out. One of the kids came knocking quite loudly on the door to tell me. They'd scared him so much he didn't even get down the stairs.

Bear is very scared of children!

Anyway, I grabbed him and closed the kitchen window. But damn - we really need to figure out a solution so that we can keep windows open without the cats getting out.

I played with the girls for awhile. We played some chasing games, had some races, and played clapping games and Mother May I (I didn't have to be the mother, woohoo!). They'd found caterpillars and tried to race them, but that didn't work very well. I was out for about an hour, and went back in in time to call Andrew.

It was a good talk with Andrew - I vented about his mother, he was appropriately irritated at her behaviour, and he's going to be my buffer again when he gets home, which I sorely need. We also made a pact to back each other up 100% on the day of, when doing all the setup and whatnot.

My mom is going to call me sometime today with news about what happened with Granma at the specialist. They went in to see the specialist 3 hours ago...

They make a pet resistant heavier duty screen you can buy at hardware stores. Home Depot has it, I think.
