I worked late yesterday. I was super busy, and every time I looked at the clock, hours had passed. It was a good day, work-wise.

I'd be super busy today, if we had a working build. It's been going up and down and up and down every 10 minutes,
and when it IS 'working', things don't work as expected. We're waiting for a fix. Ah yes, waste our time. Want testing done by end of May? Hmmm. Then GIVE US A PRODUCT WE CAN TEST.

Ahem.

Anyway, I worked late, came home, and ate food that is very bad for me while reading, for a while. I turned on American Idol and did other stuff (since I accidentally checked lj and found out the winner beforehand) for awhile before sitting down and watching the last half hour or so. Oh Fantasia, I love you!

I tried to call Andrew, but the cellphone he has access to was off. Either they'd all gone to bed early, or they were working late, so I didn't get to talk to him. I'm going to try again today...

Anyway, that was it, and then I made my lunches and went to bed EARLY.

And I gave the cats food before bed, and the bear oh so joyously was QUIET all night. I woke up at 6:30 and got up early anyway, but not because of him - I was just done sleeping.

It was a gray gray stormcloud morning as I walked to the skytrain station this morning. I enjoyed it. And, best of all, it started POURING rain... *after* I got to work.

I'm thinking, flowers wise, that wildflowers (bright flowers of all types) mixed in with daisies would be beautiful... and would brighten up the reception, because I know I'd been worried about it seeming too dark and somber with those dark plates. And then we can put the stones/glass stones/shells/sparkles right around the pressed tin vases, and then spreading out slightly towards the middle of the tables, which I think, will be gorgeous!!!

I still haven't called about flowers, but it'll be ok, I think. Now that I'm thinking a combination of 'wildflowers' and daisies, worst case scenario we could run around to all sorts of different flower stores on Saturday morning and buy them out. Not that I want us to do that - just that, if we have to, we can. I think 10 - 15 bunches will do the trick - and 2 or 3 corsages, and that should be it!

Anyway, there's still a lot to do and I'm feeling the pressure - only 7 weeks left and we need to:

1. Finish my dress (should happen this weekend)
2. Finish his jacket
3. Order flowers, including ordering the god damned corsages
4. Reserve coffee urns (I don't even know where to start with that)
5. Make tablecloths
6. Decide on ceremony - what to say
7. Decide on reception - when Matt talks, who talks, anything else
8. Make CDs for reception
9. Decide on food for the party
10. Go shell picking (maybe I'll do that myself before you get in, I don't know)
11. I need to pick up baskets, coloured sugar, cellophane
12. Of course we need to call the commissioner, then meet her
13. Pick up the rings
14. Reserve a car
15. Get to the Bay downtown and do some registry updating (should happen asap - I'll try to do it Saturday)
16. Take the pictures of our hands
17. Get pictures developed, framed, and wrapped, for parents - including nice cards
18. Get the marriage license (well DUH)
19. Make my sundress (should be quick)

Things that need to be done the week before:
1. Make all that food
2. Make the cookies
3. Assemble the party favours
4. Heavy cleaning
5. Pick up the car
6. Assemble everything that needs to be brought by us
7. Buy ice (the day of)
8. Buy food items (i.e. tortilla chips) that are our responsibility...

And of course, I just know I've forgotten something, since I'm not at home and not looking at the list.

I wish I could help! It seems like a lot but for the most part, you can get most of the stuff on list 1 done in a matter of a few days.

as for the coffee urns, check out the rental places. There should be some places (under Rental, or Party Rental in the phone book) that rents everything, included coffee urns.

What color are the tablecloths? I know you're concerned about the dark plates, but if the table cloths are bright then it doesn't seem like a problem.

The tablecloths are white... it should be ok, because the napkins are brightly coloured, but the flowers will definitely keep it bright. I don't want to get it all washed out with white tablecloth, white daisies... you know? This way, I can have bright flowers and white daisies, and hold a bouquet of daisies and have a crown of daisies if I so require as well.

I think what will take a lot of time is getting everywhere - since we don't have a car, using transit can be time consuming and tiring. Not in everyday life, but certainly when trying to run errands. Heh. We ARE renting a car for the weekend of the ceremony, though.

Thanks, I will check out the phone book when I get home...
