Anyway.
I think I'm going to buy one or two cute little patio tomatoes and put them in the workroom. That'll be awesome! We love tomatoes, and even if I do have to fertilize them, I can get an organic fertilizer, I'm sure.
It'll be a fun and cheap experiment.
Speaking of fun and cheap, we're still going strong about our life plans.
Last night we discussed some things we'd like. I mean, sure, we'd both love to live in a place with an outdoor area we can call our own (even just a balcony or patio), that allows dogs, that is more quiet, with better landlords, and possibly even hardwood floors.
But we're still focussed on the money thing.
So what we decided was this:
1. Focus on paying off the debt for a year, as previously stated. (This means my signing bonus will almost all go towards debt, instead of some to debt, some to fun, as we'd originally planned)
2. If my job continues to be in cycles (those cycles being that I am happy for a while, then unhappy for a while), then I will stay with this job. At the very least until profit sharing comes around next year.
3. If my job only continues in an unhappy vein, then I will look for other work (yes, within the year that we are working on the debt).
4. While searching for a new job, I will be very honest with potential employers about my desires - i.e. a low bureacracy, low bullshit, high value placed on employees being well treated by each other, by management, and by hr. There's no point in moving jobs to a position that is similar too or worse than the ones I'm in now.
5. After procuring a new job (should that be the path I take), we start looking for a new place to live. Either find one that is a) the same amount of rent, with all the things we desire in a living place, as stated above, or
6. Wait until the year is up, and credit cards are therefore more under control, and then agree to put x amount more into rent. Then look for a place with that rent amount, and ONLY say yes to a place that has all the things we want in it. (This will mean going to see the place at several times of day, to check noise level, it will mean speaking to other renters about the landlords, and etc)
So yeah. Thems our plans.
