be well

Heard from my mom - my Granma is going home today! She's been doing so well, that she doesn't need to go to a halfway house to recuperate. Instead, she's going home, and her sister is going to stay with her for a couple of days.

That is so great.

Last night we went out to the Vietnamese restaurant for dinner, even though we have tons and tons of good food at home. *sigh* I'm so glad an entire meal, which leaves us leftovers, with tax and tip, is $22.43. It's in the budget, but I still have money guilt over it. Probably because the extra expenses we had this month have left us with very little in the way of fun money.

Anyway.

So we had a delightful dinner, then home to make some food for lunches, order our groceries, and go to bed early.

For some reason, we were both exhausted yesterday. I mean, TIRED. My stomach felt funny from walking up the hill I always walk up... Andrew lay down during the day (which he NEVER does), just exhausted.

And since I had to get up at 5:20am this morning (I know, I know, not a big deal for those who do it regularly, but when I usually get up at 7am, well... yeah, it's something to think about, anyway), we figured it would be a good idea to go to bed a wee bit early. So at 10pm, we packed it in.

And surprisingly, I woke up 1 minute before the alarm, feeling pretty well rested, and we started our day. And I'm feeling ok now... of course, it's only 7:42, and nothing regarding our section of the project is working, so... we'll see how I feel this afternoon.

Actually, I really enjoyed walking in early. I might start coming in early all summer - or at least, until the whatzit. I'll have to discuss with Andrew, though. This morning he woke up with me, but I don't know if he's going to want to do it for 5 more weeks. ;)

Dude. I have so little interesting to say, it's not funny. Sorry.

MmMm walks after dinner! Also, don't stress about the budget thing unless you find that you are treating yourself ALL the time. As wimpy as this seems, sometimes it is good to track your spending for 3 months just to see where the holes are in your spending plan.

Actually, it's not wimpy at all. Heh. I am SO ocd on that, though. We have a monthly budget, and I have an xls spreadsheet that tracks grocery spending, all extra money spending, and (at least until July is over), all money spent on the whatzit.

I even have it count down, so each month I enter the budget for that thing (i.e. $80/week for groceries, $400/month for fun money, etc) in my little equation thingies in their own columns. We enter everything we buy into the spreadsheet, and we know we can't buy anything else when we have $0 left in each column.

Now THAT is anal. :D

I'm just feeling a little antsy because there's still 2 weeks left until the end of the month, and we have $60 left of that "extra" money left only, and there's fathers day, and my brother's birthday in those two weeks. Sigh. Hence my guilt.
