After work yesterday Andrew and I went to meet the commissioner who will be officiating the legal ceremony. She seems very nice! I liked the style of her house - an older home, she'd decorated it in a cool way. She used to be the (curator? director?) of an art gallery, and had some great pieces, and she had some funky stuff too. She's *for* same sex unions, and she was easy to talk to. So that's good! She said it's really only going to take 10 minutes or so, the legal ceremony, anyway. I'm glad - Saturday is going to be busy.

I do love our home now... if it wasn't so loud, I'd love it more, but when we're in the living room cuddling on the couch, or having a nice dinner in the dining area with music and candles... well, yeah, I'm really happy with it. This morning I went to cuddle with him on the couch, and felt really comfortable there, lying on the couch cover I made, with his arm around me, looking at our bookshelves he made and the yellow kitchen and the table and chairs he finished himself. It's homey, and it's homey because of the work *we* put into it. It may be small, it may be loud sometimes, the neighbourhood kids may stare in the window sometimes, and we may get the occasional leak... but it's homey, and it's ours.

Andrew's going to pick up some trellis this week for some bedroom work we've wanted to do for a while. We're going to have a headboard, and one of those mosquito netting things from IKEA (he got it from the thrift store for less than half price). I think it's going to look great, I can't wait! I've also got a couple of strings of lights I've meant to put there for a while, that I think will go up at the same time.
