We had such a good weekend.

Friday night:

Andrew worked.

I went shopping with Kurt - I got stocking stuffers, some gift finishers, and stuff like that, and we got groceries.

I made the dough for more gingerbread cookies, and the dough for cinnamon pinwheels, and read while waiting for Andrew to get home.

Saturday:

We got up early, baked the cinnamon pinwheels, sugar cookies and gingerbread house bits, and then went to get Andrew's hair cut.

The guy had a total crush on Andrew. But he cut his hair well!

Afterwards we had lunch (Bacon and tomato sandwiches - we had no lettuce, so they weren't BLT's, just BT's.), and then walked to get our Christmas tree.

We walked 1/2 hour to the garden place, chose a delightful Douglas fir, and then carried it home. He got the trunk side, I got the pointy side.

And it was so much fun! It wasn't hard at all, nor heavy. A seven foot tree is just perfect for 2 people to carry. It took about 45 minutes to get home with it.

We put the tree in the tree stand, watered it, put the tree skirt on, tied the tree to a hook on the ceiling (my kittens have never been near a Christmas tree before, so just in case...), and then left it to relax.

While we ate dinner, and he called his family, and then we got ready to go out:

Where we went to see a step dancing troupe (a friend of his from work is in it) and they were AMAZING, so full of life, so energetic, so funny, so FUN! And we sat with some other people he sort of knows, and some he didn't, and we had a BLAST.

Afterwards, we all hung out in the lobby for awhile, and then went to the cast party, and had fantastic conversations full of laughter and intelligence and energy and good vibes, and a bit of wine...

And after THAT we went to Insomnia cafe (which I had never been to before, which SUCKS, and not just because there are no less than 4 sets of rules up at different areas of the cafe) to see his other friend's band play. They were fun, very fun!

And during the band's set, just out of nowhere, I thought "This is my life. This is my fucking LIFE!!!"

Our life is so good. SO good.

Everything we do together amazes me. We have no tension!!! I mean none. My parents always had tension. Somebody resented someone else. No-one was happy. There was always fighting, or at least little snipes at each other. No event was completely good.

And we have fun, and we do fun things, and we meet fun people and hang out with them. We're creative, and happy. We're centred, loved, loving, and working towards goals. Life is SO. GOOD.

So then we walked home, and decorated our Christmas tree. See above comment about a tension-free life.

Our Christmas tree is BEAUTIFUL and smells good, too.

We got to bed around 4am, and so didn't get up until a little after 11 on Sunday.

Andrew had a bit of a cold. :( But that didn't stop us!

We baked gingerbread cookies, and then spent the afternoon decorating cookies for the people at work, and making little packages for them. We had a lot of fun decorating - there were cute puppies and kittens, stars, hearts, and flowers, and the gingerbread men turned into cthulu and aliens and all sorts of fun stuff.

I got kind of stressy for awhile - which happens every time I try to do something for someone - I figured that the cookies were horrible and the icing was grody and etc etc etc and I might as well not give ANY OUT.

But he said all the right things, and I knew I was being irrational, and I calmed down after awhile.

(This morning I came in and gave each person at work a package with a card, a sugar cookie, a gingerbread man, and a cinnamon pinwheel.)

Unfortunately, then he had to go to work, so I cleaned up a bit, ate cookies, made a list of things to do before my mom gets here, and figured out how much money we spent on Christmas. Then I read and went to bed early.

So that was our amazing, incredible, happy, fantastic weekend.

Our life doesn't suck. Thank you, goddess.
