d00d, is she talking about food AGAIN??
Aug. 25th, 2004 10:57 amMore posting about food????
What kind of crazy journal is this???
I've been thinking about having a separate recipe journal, actually, sort of like kreeli, but I don't know...
Anyway.
Last night I made an artichoke/sun-dried tomato pasta dish for dinner. OH. MY. It was divine. The only problem - no protein. It would make an incredible side dish though, for some protein rich thing. Or maybe, just put some fried tofu in there? Hmmmm.
Oh yeah, I was supposed to get some for lunch, but *somehow* Andrew forgot to give it to me. Heh.
Then, I was craving sweet, so Andrew made up cookies for me. It went much better than his last effort, partially, I'm sure, because I was able to give him suggestions based on my cooking knowledge. So he made poofy cocoa-oat cookies with banana and cinnamon in them, sweetened with maple syrup. Yum!!
Then I made a lunch meal - "Mexican Grain Salad". Pretty easy - rice, black beans, red pepper, green pepper, green onions, fresh corn, and salsa as the dressing. And it is SO. GOOD.
Then I played Icewind Dale and he made our version of the Macaroni Grill's Chicken Florentine Salad (we used fried tofu).
Mmmm. We haven't had that in a while. I can't tell you why, either. No reason. Maybe because pine nuts are expensive, and we didn't have any... ah well, it doesn't matter. Dinner tonight is that salad. Yum! The last time we tried it, we made seitan for it. But the seitan wasn't as we'd hoped. We have a couple of recipes we're going to try, though, to get our seitan on. Heh.
Tonight we're meeting at Metrotown, and we're going to finally go into T&T market to check it out. We're looking for vegan crab, (I want to make crab/corn cakes for dinner on the weekend), but I also just want to check it out.
Plus, they have a dollar store there, and maybe some other stores, that I want to see if I can find some itty bitty jars for making jam. You know, like when you get jam samplers, with those tiny bottles? Those would be perfect for Christmas gifts.
Then, tonight, I'll do cardio either while watching "The Stink of Flesh" (oh, I hope I hope I hope it comes today) or Canadian Idol. Really, it's a win-win situation.

Holy.
I was just thinking, this morning, about those "we can help you with your debt" commercials. Have you seen them? They start off with - "Are you in debt? Do you owe... $6000? $8000??? even $12000?????"
Heh. If I only had $12000 debt we'd be trying to get pregnant.
I'll check it out, thanks!
I'm always surprised when people ask for recipes, but you're right, I'll start cutting.

Date: 2004-08-25 12:10 pm (UTC)I did try to see if I could get a loan from my bank, a while back, to cover my debt so I could have a better interest rate, but no dice - they said I was a high risk. But I would never go to a credit place!
It's just funny, the amounts they're acting as if are large. $12000. SNORT.
