I'm feeling allll right today.

Yesterday I left work fighting off a migraine. I got home, napped for an hour, and woke up.... mostly ok. The headache was gone, I just had the shaky tummy.

I called my mother - she said I shouldn't call my granma yet. That's fine. I will speak to my mother on the weekend (since that's when she's going to be with my granma) and get her to tell my granma I'm thinking of her. That's really all I want to do - let her know I care.

I made dinner - a curried mango soup, and a DELICIOUS INCREDIBLE STUNNING punjabi chana recipe from my girl kreeli. (It's on her site veganmania)

And chai, of course.

After dinner, while he spoke to his folks, I read some cookbooks I haven't visited in a while, and put stickies on the pages with recipes I want to try. Andrew laughed at me "Found a couple you like, eh?" when I finished, and the books had little green flags waving everywhere.

And then, of course, I had trouble sleeping last night. Kept having to get up to pee. But I massaged myself (that is not a euphemism - I actually massaged tense parts of myself, my legs, stomach, etc), and I feel all the better for it. I slept around 5 1/2 hours. That's cool - it'll be the weekend soon. Plus, since I didn't work out yesterday, I actually feel rested. As if my body needed a full day, no working out, just quiet. It worked - I think I'm going to be ok.

This weekend I'm going to make jam, bake some bread, and possibly make a few tank tops. I'm going to do a bunch of cardio, and play a lot of Icewind Dale. Other than that, who knows? ;)

Most pleasing to me - I'm in a great, relaxed, happy mood. I know I'm often in those, but I can still enjoy them, right?

Heh.

The punjabi chana. Girl, that is GOOD!

I added more mustard seeds (2 tsp instead of 1) because we love them so, and I didn't have any ground cardamom, so used pods (which we had to be VERY careful about not biting by accident, heh), but otherwise, followed your recipe. Mmmmm yummy!

I don't know how you stay within a calorie alottment with all the crazy meals you cook. Glad you're feeling good today, despite the lack of sleep. Take it easy this weekend:)

I am the queen of measuring and calculating, baby. My math degree is good for something. :P

I have this crazy huge journal, and I figure out the calories of dishes, and then figure out what a good "serving" would be for my calories for the day. Also, I tend to stay away from really high fat things, and if I can decrease the fat in a recipe, I usually do. It all works together.

If I didn't make crazy meals, I'd overeat because I wouldn't be satisfied by what I was eating...
