long evenings...
Aug. 31st, 2004 09:33 amWell, our new schedule is really great! So far, so good, anyway.
Yesterday was a fabulous day. After work, I came home to a nummy dinner (fried tofu that tasted like bbq chicken, YUM, and sesame/raisin chard), then we watched the Stink of Flesh. Woohoo!!!!
We have GOT to have friends over to watch it. Dude. It's AWESOME. I'm so glad we have it. Now, if we could just get copies of Andrew's other two movies...
Anyway.
We made a double batch of pesto, and a nummy corn/barley salad, had us some nookie, and I even sent off a few emails.
The night seemed to go on forever, it was wonderful. I like this schedule, it works for me. Yes yes, it was just one day, but still... I can definitely see that I'll have lots of time to do things each evening. We'll be able to go for our walks, I can do some sewing, whatever... it'll be alllll good.
I slept well, too.
Today was Day 1 of the Bill Pearl workout - so far, so good! I liked it, and various body parts were shaky afterwards, which is a good sign. I worked hard. The only thing that sucks even just a little is that because it's our own home gym, I have to pull it apart and put it together for each different exercise, including changing the weights on the dumbbells and such. Not that I don't like it, just that it adds extra time.
Anyway.
Tonight, szechuan eggplant with tofu...
AND, it's a short week, hoorah for short weeks! I have Friday off, we're going to the PNE, and then I'm not back to work until Tuesday. Oh, how LOVELY.

Date: 2004-08-31 10:34 am (UTC)How long did it take to get through the entire Program 1 routine? I'm trying to plan my evening. I guess we're on the same schedule.. Mon/Wed/Fri/Sun Cardio, Tues/Thurs/Sat Bill Pearl?

Date: 2004-08-31 10:46 am (UTC)It took me 35 minutes, including a 5 minute warmup on the ellipse. But that's just for 1 set each exercise, which is what week 1 calls for. I'm thinking, when I'm doing all 3 sets, in week 2 and on, it's going to take closer to an hour...
And yeah, we're on the same sched! I was going to start Bill Pearl on Sunday, but because I carried all those groceries on Saturday, all my muscles were hurting on Sunday already. And I figured, hey, doing it the same days as Mal could be fun! :D

Date: 2004-08-31 10:57 am (UTC)A circuit could work - not all of the exercises require a bench, so I'm sure one of you could do triceps/biceps while one is doing extension/etc. I look forward to hearing how it went. :D

Date: 2004-08-31 10:48 am (UTC)One thing that's really helping me is that Andrew is getting up with me. It helps me feel supported... it's hard to get up when he grabs me and doesn't want me to get out of bed, and also hard when he stays in bed while I'm trying to get things done... with him up, I feel like the day has started, even when he's just stretching, or whatever...

Date: 2004-08-31 12:27 pm (UTC)people won't laugh at you. they're too busy thinking everyone else is staring at them, like gyms are meat markets or something, so they are all worried about how they're looking.
Heh.
