Last night seemed to go so QUICKLY.
I got off work, went to the library, and then walked over to see Andrew at work. I hung out there for a while, looking at stuff (we got a few CDs, a pair of shoes I'll have to take back because they're just a touch too big, and a JUICER to try - all for free), and left just before he was done, and caught a bus to go home (since he had his bike and was going to bike home anyway).
For dinner, we finished up leftovers. I wasn't particularly hungry, which is odd. I'm ALWAYS hungry. So I just ate a little. This is me, listening to my body. W00t!
Anyway.
I made the jamaiican black bean curry that
estrojenn suggested, for lunches, and Aaron called, so I talked to him for a while. Then Andrew, my brave Andrew, mustered up his courage, and not only called his Aunt to chat with her and find out if she still had the receipt for our blender, but ALSO called the carpenter he used to work for in Kelowna!
Wow!
My brave man!!
And before we knew it, it was bedtime.
Oh yes, I never mentioned what happened to our brand new blender... well, we just got it as a present from his Aunt and her family, right, and we'd been using it for a month, tops, and one night, as I was pureeing zucchini soup for dinner, it started making these weird sounds.
I checked that everything was on tight, and in the correct order, and they were... and it kept making the sounds, and then it broke! The bottom part came apart, just broke like that. I'm not describing it well, because I don't know all the names. Nothing wrong with the engine-y part, nothing wrong with the part that holds stuff... but the part that holds the blade together, THAT broke.
Heh.
Because of ZUCCHINI.
Anyway, obviously it was shoddy workmanship or something, so Andrew called the blender company and they said if we can get the receipt, we can bring it back to the store, but if we can't, there's an outlet place in Surrey, and we can bring it there and get it replaced.
Luckily, someone else gave us a food processor, and we've been mostly using that, anyway.
And the zucchini soup was really good!
