Hooray for courses!

2 midterms, no final. The second midterm includes only the information from after the first midterm. A few assignments and case studies, and one project, that seems that it will be a "stand up in front of the group and talk" sort of thing. Not my favourite thing to do... but luckily, I'm good at it.

W00t!

I am a geek!

Ah well.

I had a really good time, and really felt more alive as a result of going to class. I don't know if we'll be able to afford me taking a class a term, but I sure would love to. But, first things first. This class, then looking to get certified... then maybe I'll want a break, who knows?

I'm a little pissed off, because work said a certain server was going down at 4pm today, which would not allow us to test. As a result, I postponed my workout until after work, and then came in...

to find out that the server is going down at 4pm TOMORROW.

So now I needlessly changed my schedule, that I LIKE, and will have to do it tomorrow, too. Sigh.

Maybe tomorrow I'll get up early instead. I dunno.

Andrew's making his first batch of bread today! How exciting! I hope it works out well.

I'm normally the bread baker, but with all the things we both do in our lives, I don't have an entire day to devote to baking bread, every week. So we're hoping to take turns. We'll see how it goes.

I *had* interesting things to say... I just don't remember what they were.

I wish I could muster your excitement about school. I'm feeling very blah about it this year.

I'm certain that a large part of my excitement has to do with the fact that it's been over 6 years since I was last in school... heh. I remember my last year, and a lot of the ennui.

I hope the time ends up quickly for you...

congratulations on yer schoolin! i'm glad you are excited.

you know, i have this old breadmaker kicking around (my stepdad bought us a brand new one a couple of years ago for NO REASON since the older one was working fine...) and i tried to freecycle it but the TWO people i tried to hook up with to give it to both flaked on me. it's in perfect working order and you can really fool around with different kinds of recipes. leon is an expert at it. and the best part is, it takes 5 minutes to put all the ingredients in, turn it on, and voila, four hours later you have perfect homemade delicious bread.

anyway, i was going to try listing it on freecycle again, but if you guys are interested, i'll pass it your way. leon can even type up his favourite recipes for it to give to you (since the book was lost long ago...)

wow, mama, that would rock!

I used to have this whole "breadmakers are for the WEAK" thing going on, but frankly... breadmakers are for the busy. Old fashioned breadmaking has a nice zen feeling to it, and a feeling of accomplishment, but so does the 1000 other things we have to do... and we don't even have CHILDREN.

That'd be way fun.

Oh, and we needs must talk about satyrday! Would you like to have girl time start at dinner time (i.e. the boys and kids eat dinner together and you and I eat dinner together), or after dinner time? (I am making potato/lentil pierogi, if that affects your decision ;)

i hear you about the "does homemade bread have buddha nature?" thing. heh. but you can still make bread by hand if you so desire. it just makes it easier if you run out one day and want to have a loaf ready when you wake up in the AM without staying up all night minding it. i'll bring it with me on saturday.

i'd LOVE to come to dinner. what fun to eat without children squawking around me! and perogies sounds fabulous. shall i bring dessert?

by sugar-free, do you mean REALLY sugar-free? or can i use maple syrup?

maple syrup is fine! Fructose is too, and brown rice syrup... just not corn syrup or anything from canes. :D

Your food posts make me swoon. Homemmade bread is divine.

I really wish I could motivate myself to cook more.
