my birthday ROCKED

brightbluegirlI had an AWESOME day!
It actually started on monday night. I wrote my exam (I'm pretty happy with it, we'll see what mark I end up with), and got out early and was able to be home at a reasonable hour. Andrew had baked me a cake (chocolate, with caramel icing!), and I convinced him that if he didn't give me my presents that night, I wouldn't sleep well all night, and would get up early on my birthday. And he caved, hooray!!
So for my birthday, he gave me:
2 pomegranates
2 tapes (he got them from the thrift store), one of which was Rick Astley. And let me tell you, TRUE LOVE is getting your partner a Rick Astley tape, just because you know she had a crush on him when she was a teen!
2 yoga tapes (both beginner tapes, 1 for flexibility, 1 for strength)
"Oryx and Crake" by Margaret Atwood
"Stitch and Bitch" a book about knitting, for beginners, written by the woman who started Bust magazine
A mortar and pestle
A really pretty long wooden box, probably meant for jewelry, that I have not figured out what to put in yet (or where to put it)
One of those exercise balls (it's purple!)
Anyway, that was super awesome, and then we had cake, and then we went to bed, and I slept REALLY WELL, and slept in, too!
On my actual birthday, he made me oat waffles, and then we went to IKEA, it was awesome! We wandered around, and bought some CD holders so we can take our CDs off our bookshelves, and bought a great magazine holder thingie, and 8 light blue glasses, because now that I'm 31, I really want matching glasses! (Next on my list is nice silverware that looks good and doesn't bend if you look at it funny.)
We went home, and I napped and he tidied up the house, and then Kirsten and Saby came over, and Andrew made dinner (morrocan tofu with spiced couscous, and yam fries with miso gravy), and then hung out and Andrew and Kirsten played pick-up-sticks, and Saby and I talked home decorating, and then we all played Pictionary, and they left to go home, around 11:30. I went to bed exactly at midnight on my birthday, no time was wasted, it was fantastic, just PERFECT.
Andrew really made me feel loved and good on my birthday. He was so attentive and wonderful, it was really something! I mean, he usually IS, but he was even more so yesterday, and I am so lucky. I think I fell asleep telling him how much I love him.

Actually i had found all my old records at my moms a while back.. and a record player but we needed a new needle and couldnt get it to work.
I was actually laughing my ass off, sitting on the floor.. begging scot to make it work.. while my mom kept pulling out old records.
