The good life.
Jan. 2nd, 2003 10:45 amOn the 31st, we biked out to Montgomery and San Pedro (FAR!), and picked up some fixings for sushi. We didn't find any raw fish, but we got roe, inari, and crab (well, fake crab).
I got to leave work a couple of hours early, and we biked home, then walked to the nearest grocery store (where HUGE shrimp were on sale! sweet!), then went to Blockbuster video and got 4 movies.
That night we ate veggie gyoza, then made eel/avocado roll, california roll, and tempura shrimp roll. It was all so yummy!!! We even took a picture.
Then we watched Death to Smoochy, which was great.
Afterwards, we had a bath together, and talked about our year in review, what we accomplished, and how we'd grown. It was a really positive talk.
We got out of the bath in time to get into our jammies for new years. We kissed in the new year, and then went to bed, where I gave him a massage, and then he gave me a massage, and we fell asleep cuddled up.
It was divine.
Yesterday we slept in until 10, and then went for a little walk. We got bacon and some sundry other things, and then watched Mystery Men (there were parts in that movie where I laughed SO HARD.), and ate All Dressed Ruffles Chips (that Cam sent us) and then I got to watch Dr. Phil (a luxury for me), and we had french toast and bacon for lunch, and then I had a bath, and then a nap while he had a bath. It was such a beautifully decadent day. That evening we watched A.I., and went to bed early, cuddling and giggling until we fell asleep.
I think it was the perfect way to start our New Year - together, relaxed, and taking care of ourselves.
We have one more movie to watch today - Donnie Darko. That's what we're going to do tonight. I do so love getting to spend this kind of time with my love.
Life is good.
