it's lunchtime... quick, update!
Dec. 6th, 2004 12:12 pmMan, my hormones are bugging me lately. Yesterday, anyway, was "bitchy as anything" day. Ugh.
Even so, life is good. I made my mother a cute little pillow with lavender inside it, and I baked a bunch of cookies, and Andrew made Aaron an AWESOME t-shirt that says "Kali loves you" and has a picture of Kali on it. It's so great.
We're behind, behind, behind already... we'd be ok if I didn't have this care package to create and send for my mother, but that's ok. I think tonight I'm going to go to the mall (ugh) before my class and try to get a bunch of stuff for that. She's requested a few CDs, I'll see what sort of price they are, and how they fit, and I'll see if I can find some nice pretty and soft cozy slippers, or maybe a hat/scarf/mitten combo. I also think I'm going to get a bunch of magazines she might like, because her brain isn't really in book mode, but she needs things to do while she's sitting by granma's bedside. Food is good too - little packages of things she can open that won't go bad.
Anyway, I hope that works out.
Tonight I believe we wrap everything, and then we'll have to send it. Of course, now that I think of it, there's no rush on the wrapping, since he works a full day tomorrow, so the earliest we can send everything is Wed. Heh.
Last night's dinner was SO GOOD. I found a recipe for Chinese Scallion Bread, one of our favourites, and so yesterday morning I whipped up a batch of dough and left it on the top of the fridge to rest, and last night when Andrew came home, he made 4 flatbreads while I made tomato-ginger soup. We each had one with soup, and YUMMMMMMmmmmmMMMMMMmmmm YUMMY.
For our snack last night we finished the breads. Ooooh baby, HEAVEN.
I need some more whole wheat pastry flour so we can make more. Heh.
I got my package from
pennycuts!!!! Andrew called me and told me. So tonight I have something to look forward to opening when I get home from class. Woohoo!!!! I can't wait, I can't wait!!!
Unfortunately, he also told me that when doing laundry this morning, he accidentally left my blue sleeping shift in with the light colours, which dyed one of my work shirts.
Poor bhunny, he feels like a total goon, but really... it happens to the best of us, I mean, it's not like he saw the blue shift and thought "hey, bright blue, I'll put that in with the whites!". Missing something like that happens to EVERYONE.
So I really can't deny it any longer - I need new clothes. I need a pair of comfy pants, a couple of comfy shirts, and a comfy new bra. I'm just going to have to suck it up, and take $100 of the money that was going to go towards paying down the cards, and buy some. I was thinking of doing it today, but instead I might wait until the weekend. I'd rather focus on getting some of those presents and packages complete.
Fortunately, I don't have to be quite so goody-goody in my clothing selections any more. Unfortunately, I don't know if that means I can get away with wearing combat pants. Heh. Yet.
So, we went to Rodaos on Saturday night with
hokahey, and it was lots of fun! I missed Saby and Kiri, but this just means they'll be healthy for the holidays, and that's best.
The place was REALLY quiet though. Not many people at all. I wonder if it's usually like that? If so, we're screwed, because I always end up finding the perfect place, but no one else likes it, and then it closes down because it doesn't make enough funds.
On the other hand, if no-one else likes it, there's always room on the dance floor...
Anyway, we closed the club, which I haven't done in years. Mind you, since closing time is 2am here, it's easier to close the club than in Toronto, I suppose.
And we danced lots! I had a great time. I'm really looking forward to going back there. Maybe in the new year...
