quick and dirty
Dec. 28th, 2004 10:00 pmWe're back!
The holiday was lovely - and most importantly, we've had a wonderful couple of days at home. I go back to work tomorrow, but it won't be as stressful - I'll leave early each day, and I won't have anything to do in the evenings with a deadline, so life will be good.
Andrew's mom worked really hard to give us vegan food all weekend, which I REALLY appreciate. One day, she made "Italian tacos", shells stuffed with yves ground round, and tofutti cream cheese, with tons of (mild) salsa, with crushed tortilla chips on top, and then baked. And get this - she didn't tell the rest of the family, so the family would eat them!!! It was hilarious.
Anyway, there were some small things that bothered me, but it's hard to tell what's just my overactive brain, so I'll leave it for now.
Besides, I want to go make some crockpot oatmeal.
Anyway, last night Andrew and I exchanged gifts. Not only did I get TONS of books, plus an herb/spice bible and Sundays at the Moosewood, and 2 doctor who movies, and a box to put stuff in, and tea, and a wonderful stuffy with a tummy that holds a magic bag (that Andrew made, with mint and lavender in it, YUM), but Andrew spent all kinds of money and got me a GORGEOUS fancy japanese cast iron tea pot. Blue, with dragonflies. Oh man, we've had so much tea since I opened it!!
And he LOVED his scarf, wore it all last night and then draped it on the armoire so it was the first thing he saw today. CUTE.
Many pictures tomorrow, I promise.
Off to make tomorrow's breakfast...
