I worked all day yesterday on my technical writing contract, stopping only to run to the store to pick up a few necessaries for dinner last night.

I'm a little stressy about this one - it's my first 'meaty' contract, and I want to do it well - but I know full well it's my first meaty contract and that I've never done it before. Luckily, when you're hired by your friends, they have your best interests at heart. He's reviewing it today, and will get back to me around 10, so I have some idea of the updates needed.

But then I didn't make dinner after all. I worked for an hour after Andrew came home, and then I had a nap (neither one of us was hungry yet), and woke up cranky... and before I knew it, I was extremely nauseated, trying to throw up in the bathroom, unable to stand straight up because it felt worse that way.

Lovely, that.

So Andrew made me ginger tea, and I lay down in bed... and somewhere along the line I realized it was a migraine... only without the headache. Sure enough, I got Andrew to give me 2 ibuprofen, and 20 minutes later I could actually stretch out in bed instead of continuing on in the foetal position. Then I fell asleep, and it was for the best.

This is the second time in the past year I've had one of these migraines without the headache. I don't understand why I don't get the headache - nor do I understand why they've only started this past year! I grew up with migraines, I joke that I had a 3 year migraine once I hit puberty, but it's true - I get 9 day migraines, 12 day migraines... but always the symptoms (tight neck/shoulders/back, nausea, light sensitivity, sound sensitivity) come WITH the headache.

Ah well, whatever.

So of course I woke up at 5am, since I was pretty much in bed from 7pm onward. Just to be careful, I'm going to pop some more ibuprofen - the right side of my neck/shoulder area is feeling odd.

In other news, we are meeting up with Andrew's family for dinner tonight. They're so loud, I'm sure I'll get the headache to go along with the rest of the symptoms.

I jest, but if I don't feel better by then, I'm going to beg off. They'll understand. Migraine = no thanks, I can't come over.

Edit: Uh yeah, and waking up to a kitchen that has been trashed by TWO ADULT MEN WHO OUGHT TO KNOW BETTER is not making me feel better.

I'm actually feeling kinda rough today. Sigh. I guess being 100% after only one night was too much to hope for.

that's really interesting! I am in fact pre-menstrual, but I don't recall if I was the other time. And I don't usually get this when I'm premenstrual... hmmm.

Well, thanks, I just napped on the couch for an hour, and I feel really good. I'll keep napping the day away, and I'll be ok!

aw, you're the sweetest.

I did spend some time cleaning the kitchen - there's another load of dishes to do, but it's looking a lot better. I had a lovely hour's nap on the couch, too, and that was absolutely delicious! I'll be ok. The boys are gone so I have the day to myself.

heh heh. Well, I'd told him off, and he'd apologized and said that I was absolutely right, the dishes should have taken priority, but now he's definitely going to remember! :P

I hope that you are starting to feel more human. I would rather be sick to my stomach than have a migraine. There is nothing worse. Feel better, man! Glad you are able to have some alone time.

I also think the full moon yesterday is making the males of the species a but nutty. Hopefully it will go away soon! :)
