brightbluegirlSo I got the hairdye replacement from the post office last night, and as they requested, I emailed them to let them know I received it. In the email, I said "if the original package comes my way, I'll send it back to you" and they said "please don't bother, no worries".
So, I'm going to wait until I get my next credit card bill, just to check. And if the charge really isn't on there, and really isn't on my last bill, then I'm going to tell them.
I know there are lots of people who wouldn't... but it really does feel right to me. They're a small company, and they have shown me good customer service in trying to fix the problem.
I ALSO got my package from Malaka!! I don't know why things took so long to get to me this month, but it finally did.
And Malaka, WOW!! I love it. Thanks so much! You know me well, that's for sure.
To start with, I opened the box to find a GORGEOUS bag with all these awesome purples and blues in it, and the tissue paper was blues and some pinks, and it was just stunning. I know it's obvious what colours I like, but still... oooooh pretty!
She sent me a great book on Natural Remedies to health problems, that I can't wait to read. And a beautiful chinese wind chime, and some super cute string lights that are little paper lanterns (that I would NEVER get for myself because I want them but don't NEED them), and a super bubble set that I plan on using outdoors very soon.
And then a pretty card, with a mysterious hint about something that she "really" wanted to get me. Unfair! Whatever it is, I'll have to have a really good month or something. ;)
Thanks Mal, really, it is just awesome. Worth waiting for!
Andrew just called me to say that the reason he's been getting so many hours this week is because the store manager wrote herself off the schedule, and quit with no notice.
She's been working there for 5 years!
Apparently she doesn't like the way the store vision is coming together - in that there is no store vision. She talked to the owner early this month, and the owner said "I hear what you are saying, I'm going to make some changes, but please give me some time to get that going". And then the mall decided the store had to move (they had previously been renting, not leasing, so they have less rights, apparently), so she's been scrambling to get THAT in order...
So the manager quit! Apparently it wasn't coming together quickly enough for her.
Personally, given the extenuating circumstances, I'd have given them longer. It leads me to think that either there was something else going on, or she waited until she was too fed up before saying anything - which meant that if changes didn't occur right away, she was going to leave anyway.
Anyway, this means more hours for Andrew (good) and potential for growth in the job. With luck, it means only good things for us, and doesn't actually mean there's a problem with the owners/store that we will be hit with later.
I'm reading Culture Jam. I am ashamed to admit that the easy way he's written it is making it easy for me to actually keep writing. He's so obviously written for our sound byte society, and I hate to think that I am part of that.
Jokingly, I often say that my concentration span is so short, when I grew up without a tv, and don't watch much of it now... what would it be like if I grew up watching as much as the average North American?
But I don't actually want it to be true!
Well, I guess it's not as bad as all that... maybe partially it's just that I'm more interested in this topic right now.
Only two days left, including today! ACK. The days are going by SLOWER AND SLOWER AND SLOWER... aaarrrrrrrrrgggggggghhhhhh.
