Ugh. Migraine.
Apr. 24th, 2005 08:09 amWaking up with a migraine isn't fun, kids. It means the day most probably isn't going to go up from here.
But it gives me permission to not work out, and instead to do my favourite thing in the whole world - sit at the table and look at recipes.
Andrew works only 11 til 3 today, so we will have the whole evening together. We have, as yet, no plans. I'm supposed to make a bunch of mini leek and potato pot pies for dinner - we'll see.
I hate leeks, but he wanted to try the recipe... who knows, maybe I'll like it. At the very least it will be fun to make.
Yesterday I went out to meet with
zaftigvegan and
ambeaux to play with the kids and hang out with the moms... but something happened and we were never able to find
ambeaux. I still don't know what happened. :( However,
zaftigvegan and I hung out and ate falafel and ginger cookies I'd baked, and talked, while the kids played, and that was nice.
I haven't mentioned it yet, but I'm going to one of the islands for a while with
zaftigvegan and her family. We leave on Tuesday morning, and we have to take 3!!! ferries to get there. Wow.
Anyway, Andrew can't come because of the whole 2 jobs thing, and that really is a downer for me. I'll miss him. But in a lot of ways it's going to be really good, too. It'll be an adventure, and I'll get a lot of alone time, and a lot of me time...
Sometimes in the last 3 weeks I've felt like I took this vacation and somehow it means I'm available to do more things for the boys - more dishes, more laundry, more cooking, etc. I am not your house bitch.
Anyway, there will be much less of that while I'm on this island.
Well, the painkillers have kicked in some, I'm feeling better enough to make breakfast...

Date: 2005-04-24 04:56 pm (UTC)I so wish you lived closer so you could come over and we could try cooking veggie stuff together. In a town of hippies, I have no other veggie friends. Damn meateaters! ;)
OK - I'm clueless - but what island are you going to? You must take pictures!

Date: 2005-04-24 07:01 pm (UTC)As predicted, Am had to check out, feed the kids, and then they followed ZV's mom's directions to a park under the train line. They were at some playground for hours.
Bah. I'm sorry you guys never met up. I'm glad we all managed dinner however!
Have fun at the island. It looks like you'll have perfect weather for the trip.
