ARGH just lost an update. I hate that hate that hate that.
Anyway.
Finally, I have time to update. It's been a crazy couple of weeks, and I expect it will be another crazy few as well.
The move went well - I got a little stressed about getting everything done on time (we only had the truck for 5 hours - and I will NEVER RENT FROM BUDGET AGAIN, but that's another story), but I got the truck back 30 minutes ahead of time, so that's good. Afterwards, I bought Thai food for everyone who stayed, (and Saby, who came over after work), and then, when I said that Andrew and I should probably go spend some time working on the apartment so that we could actually move around in there,
sabyorange and
kirithebrave (who had worked all day helping us move), and our next door neighbour, all said they would help us!
We got so much done that night. So many pieces of furniture put together, and boxes put in their correct rooms - it was incredible. I felt REALLY loved.
(Thanks, you guys, you were GREAT)
Since then, we've been unpacking as best we can. Now we're just waiting on a drill (I believe Andrew's co-worker is bringing one in today), and then on Sunday night I believe Andrew is going to put up all our bookshelves, which will let us finish unpacking next week. Then all that will be left will be the part that takes forever... the decorating.
Several people have demanded pictures. ;) and you'll be getting some! But not until we're fully unpacked.
Our plan is to decorate one room at a time. Pick a room, pick colours, and etc. But we're going to wait until our finances are back in order, and then do one a month, or something like that.
So yeah, we're moved. :D
In other news, I have a cold - it's almost gone, but it was at it's worst during the move. Of course. I even took Monday off work, sick. I went in to work, stumbled around a bit, there wasn't anything for me to do anyway, and so I left. Definitely for the best.
And my boss (I mean, the VP, not just a manager) caught me writing personal emails TWICE this week. *sigh* If he ever brings it up, I'll just say it's because we didn't have any internet connection at home after the move.
Work was pretty crazy, but no overtime. And not only that, but it is even MORE awesome than I thought it would be to live this close to work. It's 30 minutes to get from here to there, door to door - but only 5 of those minutes is on the skytrain. The rest is walking.
Next week I'm going to try biking to work.
YAY!
Today, grocery shopping.
Tomorrow, painting our old place back to boring white (ugh).
Anyway.
