blah blah blah...
Aug. 19th, 2005 09:20 amI'm at work and there's currently nothing to do - not even anything to procrastinate doing.
Yes, for this I left a really awesome party with really awesome people, EARLY, last night!
Bleh.
Anyway, I suppose I COULD go and ask if there's anything to do, but you know, now I'm in that unmotivated "surf as long as I can" sort of mood. That's right, you come to me!
I'm SUCH A BADASS.
I had such a great time at that party last night. Got to spend time with my girl
zaftigvegan and her man (who just turned Jesus this year (33)), meet new people, see other people... it was really really really good.
Next Saturday is the Vancouver Zombie Walk, so we're going to have a whole bunch of people over around 1 or so, so that we can make them up as zombies. There will be children and everything! TOO AWESOME.
Andrew and I are going to have to do some thinking on zombies. If we have 10 or so ideas ready, we can get a bunch of zombies done up fast. This is going to be FUN.
We met a new friend. :D
Today is going to be a little crazy - I'll get off work at 4:30, pick up some flowers for Andrew's grandmother, jump on 3 busses (NOT AT THE SAME TIME) to get myself to his Grandparents house, give the flowers, pick up the car, drive to our place, pack the car, drive to pick up Andrew, and then drive the 4 1/2 hours to Kelowna.
Phew!
Then a wedding, then this that and the other thing, and then we're back on Sunday.
Monday morning we get up in the wee hours to drive our neighbours to the airport for their honeymoon, then I go to work, then yoga with Anita, then dinner with she and the Greggster.
PHEW!
I have booked Tuesday night off, I want the night off! Heh.

Halloween In August...or maybe we're all just a little bit hungrier...
WEEK OF JULY 31, 2005
LEAD STORY
Mark Nuckols, a business student at Dartmouth, has begun selling a tofu-like food, Hufu, that is flavored to resemble what he believes is the taste of human flesh. His target audience is those who already enjoy cooking with tofu, as well as any actual cannibals who might settle for artificiality in order to avoid legal problems and logistical hassles. Nuckols said he has never tasted human flesh but based his recipe on cannibals' reported descriptions of the flavor. [Stanford Daily, 5-25-05]
The Zombie Walk sounds fantastic. Wish I could be there among the living unliving, and their admirers/wannabees. I used to play Zombie all the time as a kid. Unfortunately, I still feel that way as an adult.
No Zombie Walk should be complete without the traditional Massive Human Flesh Eating ritual, so perhaps the above news item could provide some culinary inspiration (and keep the city's tofu cooks busy).
"When there's no more room in British Columbia, the Pseudo-Dead will walk Vancouver."

Date: 2005-08-24 05:07 pm (UTC)So, lately I've been burned a little from friends and whatnot, on lj. I'm a little... skittish, as it were. I've read a few of your entries, and you seem intelligent and interesting, and also like you're going through a lot and could use some support, as we all do at times in our lives.
Could you tell me, though, why you added me as a friend? What was it about me that interested you?
It's really a silly question, but I'm hoping to get some idea about you from the answer, so I can feel more comfortable, and thus add you as a friend. :)
