Oooh PMS'ing.

Hormones, man. They suck sometimes.

I was taking so many things personally at work today. It just wasn't a good day. And nothing HAPPENED. Nobody DID anything. It was all my hormones...

I think.

I'll know for sure as the week goes on.

Ugh.

I've had that tattoo for a long time! It's not done yet, has many many hours to go, but yes, that's my back! :)

Wow, in Germany not many people have tattoos, so it's always something exciting and new for me. But I am afraid that it really hurts A LOT to get this done?
You are a very brave girl!!!

My uterus has more issues than I do. :D I hate that. What is freaky ot me is that it seems to be possible for a bunch of women to cycle together in cyberspace as well.

That's cool, actually. :D

Although I'm on the pill, so my cycle is forced. My normal cycle is longer than 28 days...

It's not just hormones.

After my freak out last week I was talking to my therapist and he pointed out two things. One, running for thirty minutes a day can have the same effect on your serotonin levels as taking Prozac, but without the nasty side effects. And two, menstruation can completely deplete those levels. So in my case, I hadn't run for a week (I was sick) and I was in the middle of my period. Given those things, plus my sensitivity to it in the first place, and it's not at all surprising I had a break down.

I've been told to exercise more, most especially around the time of my period. It all seems so simple, I'm stunned no one ever pointed it out to me before!

Could your case be similar?

That's an interesting point - I find that my PMS is worse when a) I've been eating sugar and b) my stress level has been high.

So, although I was working out the month before my period, I think those two combined to make the problem worse. Probably, had I upped my workout level, I would have had less of a reaction.

Thanks for the info! I'll definitely keep it in mind for all the next times.

He also pointed out that anxiety and depression tend to go hand in hand because they're both largely regulated by the same substance - you guessed it, serotonin.

I've been doing some reading on the web about this stuff and it seems he knows what he's talking about. My next question would be about how our bodies deal with stress and anxiety, if its similar (which I suspect it is) then your stress may have tanked your levels too.

I love this stuff!
