Working Out, Pumping Iron...

I feel so revitalized. Two days off in a row can really help.

Especially when we're so active. Check it out:

1) Saturday night we lift weights and do our stretches (of course Saturday I biked to and from work)

2) Sunday we went for a three hour walk

3) Monday we biked to Wild Oats (and back with our groceries) - which is always about an hour of biking, plus we walked for over an hour, then we lifted weights and did our stretches.

I am so proud of us! I was supposed to take one of those days off, but I felt so energetic that I didn't. I'm taking today off primarily because I don't want to get sick.

I also lost another pound (and an inch off my hips) - I now have 25 pounds to go to reach my goal!!

I'm just so motivated. It's all going the right way. I'm feeling so good about this.

How not to raise your family

We borrowed the first season of the Osbournes from our neighbours on the weekend. We wanted to see what the big deal was.

They are innately likeable. There's something about each of them that I can relate to.

But I hate how these folks are raising their kids. I hate that they call Kelly a drama queen for being upset about things. I hate that they let Jack stay up until all hours of the night on school nights. I hate that they all talk over each other all the time, and don't take the time to LISTEN to what the other person has to say.

They're like the poster children for what we will NOT do when we raise our family.

In fact, parts of it bothered me so much that I woke up in the middle of the night last night thinking about those poor people and their lives.

It was interesting, though, nonetheless. And we laughed, and it was thought provoking, and that's all I ask for.

Blockbuster sucks

We went to rent some movies on the weekend - Grosse Point Blank (because John Cusack rocks), and Lethal Weapon 4 (because Jet Li kicks Ass) from Blockbuster.

However, they insisted that we have late fees of $4.66 from renting Donnie Darko over New Years.

We KNOW we don't owe late fees, because:
1) we specifically remember bringing it back - there was a problem right at the end of the tape, so we brought it TO THE COUNTER, and told them about the problem while we paid our late fees.
2) we ALWAYS PAY our late fees, because that's the kind of people we are.

But they wouldn't do anything about it. They said we'd have to talk to the manager on Tuesday.

We've decided just to fuck it. Blockbuster edits their films (we just found out), anyway. And some mother fucking large corporation damn well can afford to pay $4.66 to keep a customer happy.

And of course, it's not like $4.66 is all that much, but it's the principle of the thing.

So we'll just have to do without Blockbuster. Somehow we'll survive, I'm sure.

thoughts

I've been having lots of thoughts lately. Thoughts about mental health and friendship. Thoughts about experiences growing up. And there's really nothing I'm in the mood for writing right now - but I think that's primarily because I'm tired of writing and I want to see what Andrew wrote. My poor baby, he's sick.

Blockbuster sucks

Agreed. I hate Blockbuster...they refuse to carry unedited versions of films for adults (ie. Y Tu Mama Tanbiem and The Piano Teacher) but regularly let teenagers check out garbage on par with Jackass The Movie. Unfortunately there are very few independent video rental places left anymore, so most people don't have too many options if they want movies.
