Things with Chloe are doing great. When we met her, she moved more like an old dog than the 2 year old she is. Now, she's doing much better! She can get up and down a lot easier, and on Sunday we went to the park and played with her and she ran around like nuts, and last night when I got home she was so excited that she jumped around and played with the rope that Antje got her - we were even playing fetch! A big deal for my big girl.

We're feeding her some high quality stuff. Finally off the wet food, she's eating orijen, which is 70% protein, 30% vegetable, and 0 grains or additions or anything.

When we're on walks, she only pulls when she sees another dog... or a cat... or a squirrel. Heh. I think we're going to get some training treats to train her to walk beside us. But that's not a big deal, overall.

I'm really thrilled about her. Chloe fits into our family really well.

That looks like an awesome food. I am glad she is adjusting so well. Dogmas are a tonne of work, but man you get so much love back! It's incredible!

With Chloes health problem there would probably a supplement that we feed Bijou (because of her luxation problem in the knee) help too: it's for building joints and muscles and cartilage. In Germany we have a product called "Luposan" which is made of shell limestones and stuff. I put a little from this stuff on her "wet food".
I also feed Bijou "wet" organic food; ours is from the Netherlands (Yarrah). And for dry food and treats I take "Solid Gold" most of the time. I also bought "Nutro Choice treats" which she loves too.
And what you also can do is: cook her some food. A co-worker is befriended with a dog homeopathic doc and this lady feeds her dog 1/3 protein like chicken breast/turkey/low fat beef + 1/3 whole grain rice or whole grain pasta + 1/3 cooked veggies. I also often cook this stuff for Bijou. You can cook a lot and freeze it. It's probably cheaper than food from the store!?

Hi there.

I keep seeing you comment on [livejournal.com profile] zaftigvegan's journal with kindness and wisdom -- I'd like to add you, if you don't object. Reciprocity isn't necessary if you're not in the market for new blogs to read.

I don't object at all! My posting has gotten quite irregular though, and sometimes completely mundane. I hope you don't mind. :)

It's nice to meet you. :D

You know, I kind of like the mundane. Real people living real lives are interesting to me, and seeing how mundane manifests for different humans can be a pretty fascinating process.

Nice to meet you as well. :)
