hot pink and bitter
Mar. 14th, 2003 08:34 amBiking in to work today I saw all these hot pink strips of paper on the road. I bike along side roads, and this is Albuquerque, not Toronto, so it was a shock.
I stopped and picked one up.
It says:
Despite what bush tells you, Iraq
poses no threat to our country.
UN inspections have uncovered
no weapons of mass destruction
and in any case Iraq has no means
of delivering them, 6,000 miles away.
Iraq has no proven connection to
9/11, even though 50% of Americans
think otherwise. This is mainly
because of the corruption of the
corporate media, which paints a
distorted, propagandistic picture of
world events. Don't believe what you
see on television news. There is
no proven connection between Saddam
Hussein and Osama bin Laden. In
fact, they are enemies. Bush and his
right wing administration are a threat
to our security and freedom. They
want war no matter what, in order
to increase the power of the rich at
the expense of the poor of the world
and in our own country. They want
control of the Middle East's oil and will
kill untold thousands of innocent
civilians to obtain it. Their war will
enflame the hatred of our country
throughout the Muslim world and
incite more terrorism. Bush is leading
us down the path of disaster. Speak
out. Have the courage to resist this
illegitimate administration and the
madness of its actions. Act now before
it's too late.
I'm actually pretty impressed with it. I've seen far worse in my time.
I'm really bitter about this fucking job and the fucking pager and keeping the pager so often for the measly 3.5 hours extra I get a paycheck. Why? You ask. It's simple.
Last night I got a page around 11:30pm. It woke me up from a sound post-workout sleep, and we all know I'm not very happy about that.
It turned out that the guy had called an hour before, but it took an entire fucking HOUR before the pager beeped. I checked the messages - he'd called twice. The first time he didn't hang up the phone properly, so I got to listen to him piss. That is just too disgusting.
His problem? He couldn't get online and he had a midterm due. So I changed his password for him, but THEN he says to me "Can you send me an email that I can show my professor, so he doesn't think I left this midterm until last minute?"
And I thought to myself. HOW, exactly, is 11:30pm last minute, but 10:30pm is NOT?
I sent him the email, though. Gods, but in this business, support techs are less than people. A better lesson in humility there is not.
Although, it's also teaching me to hate people. And do I ever hate them at times.
Then the pager went off at 5am. But there wasn't a message in the voicemail.
Hence, a bitter kitten named Lisa.
We changed our workout plan a little.
First of all, I remembered that my original plan for this week was to do one extra cardio tonight, not one extra workout, so I biked in to work, I'll bike home, tonight we'll go for a long walk, and tomorrow will stay my day off.
I've been trying to figure out how to add lunges to our leg workout, as well as the side leg lifts, which at this point are in our stretching routine, although we really need to add sets and move them to a workout, so we can add weight as time goes by.
So here is the changed plan:
Day 1
Day 2
Day 3
I actually feel kind of bad, because I don't do abdominals every day.
So, we did the OLD Day 2 yesterday (which is back pulldowns, front pulldowns, triceps, abs, and stretches), we're taking tonight and tomorrow off lifting, and Sunday we'll start with the NEW Day 3.
And next week is the first week I start teaching those internet classes, and then that Saturday is Andrew's birthday, so we may not do an extra Lift next week either. We'll still be able to do that extra cardio, though.
Ah well, it's all good.

- Shoulder Press
- Lateral Raises (these hurt like a BITCH)
- Abs

Day 3
- Leg Extensions
