On the bus to work this morning I figured out how to do my US taxes.
I don't know why it took me so long to understand everything I'd read online, but it did.
So today I've printed out tons of forms and instructions, I cancelled my appointment with H&R Block, and this weekend I'm going to do my taxes.
Huzzah!
This is going to be fun. Yes, I am a geek who enjoys calculating things. If you think that's a bad thing, go suck on a rock.
Last night Andrew and I went for our walk to the co-op to get enough groceries so we can have rice and veggies with a spicy thai peanut sauce (YUM!) for dinner.
The walk was great - we made a point of leaving when it was still light out, so we could walk in the dusk. It was beautiful. Nicely warm, it smelled delicious (the trees are all flowering, not only are they gorgeous, but they smell SO good), and we talked...
*sigh*
It was delightful.
I love that when we go for walks everyone says hi when they pass. I like that the clerks at the co-op chat with us when we're in line. I like how friendly it is here.
I really am happy that we're here. I sometimes wish we could just take New Mexico out of the States and put it somewhere else. I would be a lot more inclined to stay here longer.
Well, unless it was in Pakistan or something. That would probably be a scary place to live too. Maybe. *shudder*
I ended up going to bed early last night. I was tired. Tired. TIRED. So tired I could feel it in my chest. Exhausted. I woke up a lot, but I slept really well when I was asleep. About 9 1/2 hours of bliss.

Date: 2003-03-16 03:06 pm (UTC)I totally understand the numbers and taxes thing. I don't think I could bring myself to get someone to do my taxes. OK, maybe it's not so much the numbers thing as the control freak thing.
I miss you, too!
