oh, the wonderful weekend.
Mar. 25th, 2003 08:53 amOur weekend was so long and wonderful.
On Saturday we picked up the car and drove to Santa Fe, and had a wonderful hot tub experience (we got there early so they let us have the tub for longer), and bought him this wonderfully smelly body lotion (it smells like evergreen) and then went to this awesome organic cafe and had uber-licious chicken-pesto gyro and pinto bean nachos while sitting on cushions on the floor, and then we wandered around Santa Fe for a while, but didn't really see anything we were interested in, so we went home and went grocery shopping, and spent $230 (!!!!!) on credit cards, and we are SO stocked up it's wonderful. It's the first time we used the credit cards in over 6 months. I don't feel bad about using them because now we have kitty litter and cat food and TONS of cans of chick peas and kidney beans and tuna and salmon, and tea and shampoo and conditioner and stuff stuff stuff, which will make our lives for the next little while much easier.
That night we went to Tricklock theatre, which on Saturday nights has this "Art for Change" variety show, where you throw spare change onto the stage after each act. It was lots of fun! It's kind of a cult thing. We didn't get home until 1:30 or so.
Sunday we went for a walk and baked bread. He got a couple of calls from friends, and I made him beer battered fish and onion rings, and cinnamon raisin bars, for his birthday dinner. We watched the Oscars enough to see Micheal Moore deserve my respect, and then I had a bath while he talked to his family.
Monday we went to my chiropractor, and then got a membership at Hollywood Video and rented Lethal Weapon 4, and bought a new cutting board at Walmart, and came home and made a picnic (egg salad sandwiches and fresh pineapple and cinnamon raisin bars and herbal lime iced tea), and biked to some tennis courts and played our version of tennis (we're still bad enough to be at the "let's try to keep it in the air as long as we can" stage instead of actually trying to play against each other, and there was no-one in the other court, which was good because the ball kept switching courts, so we just switched with it), and then ate our picnic and then biked home, where I napped for hours and HOURS, and then we made black bean burritos and read for awhile and then we did our legs work out to Lethal Weapon 4 (Jet Li ROCKS), and our abs, and our stretches, and then we made granola, and THEN we went to bed!
So our weekend was really good. There was lots of love, too. It was very sweet, and full, and nice.
