Life is good

Today was a fantastic social day.

This afternoon we played mini-golf with a couple we know from my work, and then out for food. It was a blast, so nice to socialize in an easy-going, no-stress manner, no deep and meaningful conversations. We exchanged "how did you meet" stories, and all in all, had a good time.

Afterwards, when her hubbie and my man had to go (he to a meeting, mine to work), she and I stopped off at Wild Oats for a few groceries, and chatted. It was great. She drove me home, and we DID have a bit of a deep and meaningful conversation. Just the beginnings, but enough for me to see that we can connect, should we choose to. She got a tour of our apartment in its "not for visitors" state, so she got an idea of the real us, and she and I are talking about going "for coffee" sometime this week. It was great. Really great.

Then, aviatrix and I got together. Before hand, I was feeling tired and low energy, but while I was waiting for her to come pick me up, I wrote in my paper diary, and dissembled long enough to collect myself enough for the meeting. We went to Blue Dragon for a bit, and then back to her place for awhile. It was really great. As with any new person in my life, I didn't know what to expect, but conversation flowed and ebbed in a free and easy manner. Of course, at times I offered... opinions and ideas about things I didn't necessarily know the whole story about, and I winced (inwardly), every time I did it, cuz I hate when people do that to me, but I think, overall, that all went well. I had a great time.

I know it was great because I came home revitalized and relaxed, not stressed and over-tired.

And now, my lunch is made, the dishes washed, my tummy sated with Ben and Jerrys, and I have nothing I have to do until work tomorrow morning. Life is good.
