I'm back, did you miss me?
Bah. Probably didn't even notice I was gone.
Oh well.
I took Monday off as a "sick" day. I wasn't feeling too good, but I wasn't feeling too bad, either. But I've gone in to work with a migraine, I've gone in to work with a cold... dammit, I just needed a mental health day. And I was really tired.
I took advantage of the time off my diet, too. I ate a whole bunch of crap. A lot of meat and cheese, and a lot of white bread. Actually, a lot of garlic bread. It's our new favorite yummy thing. Today I probably smell like garlic.
I feel all gross as a result. Yes, I prefer the feeling of just not being hungry, as opposed to feeling full. When I feel full I feel like I can't move, can't walk, can't go as quickly as I'd like. So I'm back on the diet. And, unfortunately, I'm still obsessed with food.
I hate it.
I hate it.
When I wasn't on the diet, I ate even when I wasn't hungry. I ate things I didn't enjoy. I ate things that made me feel ill. I'm still obsessed with food and eating, and I hate it.
It's best that I stay on a diet for the rest of my life, apparently. How frustrating is that? To have to count calories and write down what I eat every day. I don't want my children learning this sort of obsessive behaviour.
*sigh*
In other news, happy day, instead of having to PAY $600 on my Canadian taxes, I'm going to GET a $600 refund. Sweet. $1200 we didn't know we had. We're putting it all into savings for the move, and all the money Andrew makes this month is going towards this San Francisco trip.
Yes, theoretically, we're still going to San Fran. I haven't been able to get in touch with thetamermaid to confirm dates and stuff, yet. It LOOKS like we'd be getting in on the 7th (either super early on the 7th or super late on the 6th), then leaving on the 10th, early. Which leaves a Friday night for getting together, venusrising!!!! If that works for you.
And we still need to find a place to stay. Thetamermaid has her own place to stay, so that's good... I have to ask my own people. Which I WILL DO once I talk to her and figure everything out.
But, with luck, he'll make a bunch of money and we'll be able to afford the trip without much moneypinching. It'll be nice to take a trip where we don't have to worry too much about finances and things... I want sushi in San Fran, dammit! And I want to go shopping on Haight-Asbury, and maybe go to the Wild Things thing in the Metreon, and maybe go to the Exploritorium, and I want to see NEW THINGS too, and do fun things... maybe go to Alcatraz? Dammit, I want to have tons of fun with the love of my life in a city he's never been in.
Anyway.
We went to see Bulletproof Monk on Monday night. Andrew went to give the tickets to our next door neighbours, and it turned out that they already HAD tickets to the screening, so they took us. We had a good time. Loved the movie.
They are pro-this-war. I didn't know that. They're pro-Bush. We had to backpedal FURIOUSLY during a conversation with them, because we'd like to stay on good terms, and they just didn't get what we were trying to say. So we just left it as a "since we're canadian, things are different here, and they make us uncomfortable".
At least they're not extremely right-wing or anything - they admitted that the propoganda on both sides is extreme, and other things. So we have something to work with.
They took us to Sonic, afterwards, for our continued search for good fast food. I admit, Sonic is pretty good... by the time we got to eat it, though, it was already getting cold (we took it home). Cold fast food tends to taste wierd and feel wierd. But it was pretty good. We'll probably try it again to see what it's like warm.
Bulletproof Monk was fun. Chow Yun Fat rules my world. He rocks. (And he's sexy) As Andrew said, he's his own straight man. I loved it. And the martial arts was fun too. I was impressed. I suggest it to all those who enjoy martial arts movies and/or Chow Yun Fat. Tasty.

Date: 2003-04-17 10:44 am (UTC)And somehow, someday we will figure out how to conquer our obsession with food. Or we will just get stronger everyday that we have to overcome it.
