brief shining moments

Things are going really well for us.

He's making extra money, I got a tax refund instead of having to pay, my US federal tax refund got deposited into my account last week ($160, but still, it's good)...

Neither one of us is sick, our kittens have not been hurt, our home is comfy and quiet and clean, and etc.

And TODAY I got a response from a company about a job. Well, ok, all they said was they'd review my resume, and, if I fit, they'll call me about an interview.

BUT it was the very first response I got at ALL. Yes, someone thinks I exist!

And I, for a brief, shining moment, thought:

"It's going to be ok. I'm certain that I'm going to get a good job, and our life is picking up."

But then I felt as if I was going to jinx it by thinking that way, and now my shoulders are all tense from thinking that I'm going to pull down bad things onto us because I had the TEMERITY to think it will all turn out well.

Especially since of the people around us, I've heard of no less than 4 cats who have died this month, 5 sick people, and many people who need money they haven't got.

*sigh*

No *sighing* allowed. You aren't going to jinx anything by thinking positive thoughts. You think positive thoughts and I'll think positive thoughts for you and well beat down the jinx monster!

Everyone's entitled to good things. Just because you might get a good thing, doesn't mean that it's at the expense of someone else. There are enough good things to go around. :)
