Well, my day did get worse, but then it got better.
I went home, we had yummy BLTs for dinner, and then we walked down to Nob Hill for our daily cardio.
On the way, I slipped on some gravel (that shouldn't have been on the sidewalk), my leg twisted under me, and I fell, heavily, to the ground.
My right knee is all scraped up, and it was swollen (it looked like I had a second kneecap), and my right calf is all scraped and red too. I had blood running down my leg and everything.
Oh yeah, and it hurt.
We were pretty close to the co-op where we shop for food, so we finished walking there, and I went to the back and asked some folks who work there if they had any bandages. They didn't have big bandages, but they gave me some ointment and gauze. Andrew helped me clean up in the bathroom.
Funny thing - before I went to the back, we got stopped by a guy we used to know (he used to work with me). He gave me a big hug, was all false effusively happy to see me, but when he asked how I was, and I mentioned that actually, I'd just had a spill and needed to clean my bleeding leg, he a) didn't look down to see and b) said oh, yeah, I've seen so many people I know here tonight! Anyway, see you later!
I hate fake people.
Anyway, Andrew helped me clean up, we bought some toilet paper, and decided to go to Flying Star for a pick me up. (Luckily, I had mucho calories left in my day).
We got a sundae. A "turtle" sundae, which has hot fudge and caramel and pecans and real whipped cream. Only I asked for no hot fudge, just caramel.
For whatever reason, the server took a liking to me, and created this huge sundae, so big that every other server stopped and stared and made comments about it. His response? "oops, I made it too big" *grin grin* We gave him a big tip.
So we sat and ate that (Andrew ate most of it, I was still conscious of my diet), and chatted a bit, and then walked home. And did our 1/3 workout (chest and arms), and went to bed early.
Sleeping wasn't easy at all, because I couldn't sleep on one entire side because it hurt too much.
But I got enough rest, I think, and here I am at work, and I'm feeling better, not so down and out. I've got !!4!! jobs to apply to today, including one in Waterloo where a friend works - hopefully I'll get a good contact out of this, perhaps another "let's get in touch in mid-summer" sort of situation. And one as a team lead for a game company in Vancouver, testing PS2, Gamecube, Xbox, and PC games. Heh. YEAH, baby.

Date: 2003-04-26 11:25 am (UTC)Oh, I started using Rational Robot at work to do some performance testing. If you've used VB, you can use Robot. Really, I sat in front of it for 10 minutes and had most of it learnt. If you're looking for work that requires Robot, you could probably just say that you already know it.
