consume. CONSUME! CONSSUUUUUUMMMMEEEE!!
Apr. 27th, 2003 09:41 amAndrew and I went to Walmart and had a little shopping spree yesterday. :D
My discman died a long time ago. I'd been using his (since he wasn't working) to bike to work, but now that he's handy-manning all day, he uses it. But I need music to keep me biking. I get bored too easily (even if the route is pretty, which it is).
Plus, he wanted a little boombox to use at work instead of a discman (the discman is hard to hold when you're balancing on a ladder, and whatnot), plus, this way we'll have a boombox for the long drive back to Canada (the worst part of our drive down here was 3 days of country music mixed with oldies. I like the occasional oldie, but DAYUM was that a long 3 days).
I wanted a photo album to start putting photos of our life together into. I want something to show our kids, dammit.
We needed one more pair of headphones (his got chewed by kittens).
Batteries for the new boombox. (Ok, so I like the word boombox. Say it with me. Boooommmmmboxxx. Innit fun?)
And fruit. There are 2 kinds of fruit we actually like BETTER when it isn't Organic. Canteloup and Pineapple. And we had no fruit at home, and I don't want us to be unhealthy.
{As an aside: My mother always says that fruit is high calorie, and yes, it's higher calorie than vegetables, but PUH-LEAZE 1 cup of pineapple is 75 calories. 1 brownie is 300 calories. One of these things is high calorie, one is not.}
So. We took $160 out of the money Andrew made handy-manning, and off we went.
We made out like BANDITS. We found a discman for $20. A boombox for $25. And so on. WAY better than we thought we were going to spend. The discman is pretty good too, I checked it out last night. It even has a 60 second memory bucket thing. So we spent less than $80 for everything altogether.
SWEET!
We came home and did our 1/3 workout (back and front lats and shoulder press and lateral raises), and then made lunches for today. We made this new recipe - tofu and broccoli in a spicy peanut sauce. (I added peas for more vegetables.) It was GOOD. It IS good. It's delicious.
A little higher calorie than I'd like, but I'm going to play with it. Add twice the vegetables, maybe, to make it bigger. If that doesn't work, cut the peanut butter and molasses in half, maybe. But it's a keeper. It's GOOD. I mean, GOOD. I had it for breakfast this morning instead of lunch, it's that good.
I'm afraid that's all I have this morning. It's a Sunday, work is SLOOOOOOWWWWW as usual, I've been feeling tired, my knee is still swollen and bruised (I've been icing it at night), and I really haven't been thinking much.
I haven't been wanting to. If I think, I'll stress. I'm too tired to stress out right now. Maybe later.
