It's a busy morning. One guy is on vacation, another, ill. So we're understaffed, but on these occasions the rest of the team pulls together to help out, and it all works out.

I like a lot of things about this company. I like that there aren't arbitrary rules. I like that it's actually a team atmosphere - and not in a "let's do stupid team building exercises that no-one actually wants to do", but in a "it's nice to help out my co-workers because we all benefit and the company benefits" sort of way.

It lets me commit to my job without feeling like a goombah for committing to something that isn't worth it, in a company that doesn't commit to me in response.

I feel like a person here - one that's appreciated.

But enough of that.

I got an email from a recruiter about a contract that's opening up. Since I haven't given my name to any recruiters yet in my job search (because I don't trust them), I'm going to contact him to see how he found me. And, of course, to see what the job is.

It feels good to be pursued.

Yesterday for dinner we ate great big salads with chickpeas and cottage cheese and croutons and green pepper and cucumber and lettuce and thousand island dressing, so much that I was full, and walked down to the co-op to buy some groceries.

We bought some treats, too. I got an organic raspberry ice bar. MmmmmMMmMmMMMM! Only 80 calories, and all fruity and yummy. DIVINE!

Next time I want to try cherry.

Anyway. We got home and I read for awhile and he called his mom for mother's day (I'd already called my mom and stepmother during the day).

When we went to bed he gave me a good thumping... that is, for Christmas he gave me this awesome Homedic Thumper massager thing. He massaged my back and shoulders and butt.

I drooled. A LOT.

I didn't know until that moment just how much tension I'd been holding. I'm surprised I could move without pulling any muscles.

Afterwards, I slept better than I have in weeks. And I still feel a lot better than I did yesterday.

And today is my Friday, and soon it will be the weekend! Huzzah!

...or, as Niko calls it, Home-dics.

I got him one of those for Valentine's day. We like it. :)
