so close, so far away
May. 16th, 2003 08:49 amYesterday I printed out my resume to find that it had EDITTING MARKUP ALL OVER IT.
Jayzuz FRICKEN Crist on a POGO Stick.
This had happened before, and I fiddled with it and fiddled with it until it (I thought) was fixed.
Apparently not.
I have NO idea how many companies I sent that to. It looks fine on the computer, but as soon as you print it out...
I look like a flaming idiot.
Sigh.
Luckily, more and more companies (like the company I have an interview with on Tuesday) have online applications, where I've had to copy and paste my resume in text format. That means not EVERYONE I've applied to thinks I'm an idiot.
I fixed it for good this time. MWAH HA HA HAAAAAA
No, really.
We made stew last night, and then realized that it was going to take too long for the stew to cook for us to go swimming.
So we made grilled cheese sandwiches instead. Yummy!! And then trucked off to swim.
We swam for 50 minutes last night. We realized that they do play music during the evenings, however, you can't hear it through the sounds of screeching children.
Ah, screeching children.
So we like the lunchtime swim better. Less screeching.
Afterwards I called my best friend Aaron and we talked for almost an hour. It was a good conversation - I miss him a lot, and now that his work schedule has pretty much meant that we won't get to see each other until after Andrew and I move back to Canada... well, sometimes it gets pretty bad. We're both busy people, and so connecting conversations are sometimes hard to find.
I still want to get one of those sorts of connecting conversations with abelynx and thetamermaid, too. Sigh.
It really is harder to stay close when you're far away.

Re: Track Changes
Date: 2003-05-18 08:10 am (UTC)Aaron had turned it on when he did his editting pass, but I'd never used it. Suzanne told me how to "Accept all changes", and then the markup went away. Whew.
