Went home last night to discover that we didn't have enough avocado, or any oranges, to make the wild rice salad on the menu for dinner. (Wild rice is a seed, not a grain, and is edible after soaking and sprouting for several days)
So we walked down to the Japanese restaurant and had sashimi and some sushi rolls and it was really really really good. Like - I had to close my eyes while eating so I could savour the flavour more. That good. Afterwards my whole body was loose, as if I'd had an orgasm. THAT good.
Afterwards we stopped off at the co-op and got a bunch of avocados and some oranges and strawberries and bananas. We also got a bar of natural halvah. Made with corn/barley syrup and tahini and egg white. No refined sugars... or so we thought.
But I didn't sleep well all night. I mean, I woke up just before 4am and tossed and turned until it was time to get up.
So, it probably wasn't a good idea. But that's ok, now I know.
What a horrifying addiction to break! I mean, I LOVE SUGAR. I now can definitely tell that if I eat no refined sugar ever again, I'll feel really good. But I'll really miss sugar. I'll have to think about this.
So we walked home and I called Cam (he'd left a message earlier), and we talked a bunch, which was nice. His place sounds so gosh darn cozy! I can't wait to see it. They FINALLY got the house-warming gift we sent them, and luckily everything matches their decor. Cam even emailed me a picture.
And then Andrew called his family while I played an awesome level on Pac-Man World, that switched between Galaxa (Galaga? Galaxia? You know the one) and asteroids, before getting to a big boss (that kept killing me). Mucho fun.
We finally killed the boss, and went to bed. I had the aforementioned sleeping problems (although I dreamed I was a friend of Ruben, and met Clay, and told him it was a good thing to be a geek and that I wanted him to stay a geek), we got up, made smoothies with almond milk, banana, strawberries, orange, and flax (the orange made them REALLY GOOD), I took the bus to work, and here we are.
Or rather, here *I* am. Where the hell are you?
