We ran yesterday morning and this morning. Good runs, both. This morning we were more tired, though, and I could feel it just that little bit more.
But this morning we saw hummingbirds. Lots of them. For some reason there were several in the park and it's surroundings. One even circled us, hung in front of us for a minute, and then flew away. It was wonderful!
Yesterday after work Andrew took me for sushi, and then I got a dipped cone at Dairy Queen. Yeah, I'm doing REAL well on my diet. Whatever. It was very tasty. We came home and stretched while watching the end of The Truth About Cats And Dogs, which was on tv. It's contrived, but fun, and I do like Janeane Garofalo.
Afterward we settled down to read before bed, but I couldn't concentrate. I kept yawning the sort of yawns that feel as if your head is going to crack open.
So we were in bed by 9:30, and I actually slept well! This is really a big deal. It's been so long, and now it's been 2 nights in a row that I have slept well. It's amazing how big a difference that makes in how I feel.
We're planning our "vacation" at the end of this month. We are going to rent a car for 3 days (pick up on Monday, drop off Thurs), and we're going to check out Carlsbad Caverns including sticking around for the Bat Flight at dusk.
That evening, after the bat flight, we're going to drive back to Roswell, sleep there (since prices in Carslbad are just STUPID, because tourists are apparently not so choosy about how much money they spend), then check out the Museum there before heading home.
I think Tuesday night we're going to dress up and go to a fancy restaurant. This way I can wear my $3 blue dress, finally.
Wednesday we THINK we're going to drive up to Sandia Crest to do some hiking. The rest of Wednesday is free, and we'll still have the car, so I don't know what our plans are.
Thursday morning we drop off the car, and we have both Thurs and Fri to relax around home! Maybe we'll even go dancing on Thursday night. I haven't gone dancing in FOREVER, usually preferring to be well rested for work on Friday, but...
Anyway, our trip is going to be great, and I'm very excited.
I know that I'm very uptight about money, but I'm trying to get the best of both worlds for this vacation - I'm trying to be thrifty without stressing about money. I have every interest in enjoying my life fully, and I know that means I'll be spending some money to do some things. I just don't want to spend so much money I run out.
