Always a plus.
Aug. 16th, 2003 11:35 amYesterday was the wrap party for the movie.
I got picked up from work, which is good because it means I was here a bit late, so I found out...
(oh no, you'll just have to live in suspense, I'm talking about the WRAP PARTY, now!)
So I got picked up from work, and we went to this woman's house. It is sexxxxxy. I mean, they have no children, she's my age (her husband is a bit older), and they have !!4!! bathrooms, 5 bedrooms, and the bathroom off the master bedroom has a great big shower and a wonderful 2 person hottub thing. They have !!2!! balconies, huge ones, overlooking a fantastic view, and a big hottub on their lower balcony.
Translation - mucho cool place.
So we got there and someone made me a whisky sour, and we started eating and drinking and chatting, and it was fantastic. As time went on, I had another whisky sour, and then a SKYY (have you had those? Citrus vodka drinks, and they are GOOD.), and tons of people came, and there was laughter and talk and...
Scott (our next door neighbour, also the writer and director of the movie) got drunk (he's a real lightweight), and every time he passed me he'd rub my head or hug me or something, and say "I don't want you guys to move!" or "I love you Lisa, you're awesome"
3 or 4 of the girls there let Andrew know in no uncertain terms that they think I'm hot and they wanted me in the hot tub with them, not to mention certain other things they wanted from me. Some of them told me, too. Oh yeah, and there were a couple of other people (male and female) who told me I'm hot (and this was when I was in grubby work clothes and EVERY OTHER WOMAN THERE WAS DRESSED NICELY). And a few of them wanted him, too.
God-boy (I mean, he talks about his faith with a capital F) got drunk, took off all his clothes, and got in the hot tub with a naked girl. He now feels extremely guilty. *snicker*
I had lots of great conversations. That was one of the best parties I've been to in a long time. I knew almost everyone, almost everyone knew me, Andrew is a joy to go to parties with because he's also outgoing, and everyone had that cool geek level, so we talked about all sorts of things. It was super awesome.
Unfortunately, my bhunny got sick around 10:30. He'd been feeling ill earlier, and he just got worse. Luckily, my spider sense found him before he blew chunks, so he got to have me take care of him. He was in rough shape. Of course, given the fact that most of the people there were in the "I'm drinking until I'm really out of it" sort of mood, they all asked if he'd had too much to drink.
But the fact is, my man can drink anyone under the table. It's genetic, and has to do with the fact that painkillers and other drugs don't work on him. He was ill. I found someone to take us home, and when he got home, he was so pale, and shivering, and feverish. I think it was the flu.
So I set him up next to a bucket, and he passed out pretty quickly. He slept through the night, and he's feeling better (although achey) today. So much better that I believe he's gone out for waffles with the next door gang.
I didn't want to leave, but of course I wanted to make Andrew feel better. And really, I had 4 hours of really good party time before we left.
Well, I guess I'll be going now.
What?
I mentioned what?
Oh, ok...
Ok, ok. So staying late at work was good because Daniel took me aside and said that the woman from the company in Vancouver called him for a reference! Sweet sweet lovin. So he enthused and she said "Yeah, that's what we thought, but we had to ask." Cam said he got an email from her, but he only got it this morning because of the blackout, so he's thinking of calling her Monday morning (as long as he reaches her before she calls me, I'd guess).
So basically, if she's calling my references, I'm in.
Sweet.
So today I've been looking at housing postings. I found some really nice ones, and hopefully we'll be able to get some friends out to see them, so maybe we'll have a place to move to. Always a plus.
