AAAAAGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This job is SO much better than I thought.
Well, the pay, I mean.
It's a contract. A contract contract. Any other contract I've ever done has been a sort of employee sort. So I need to get a business number, and that REALLY freaked me out, because I've never done that before, but I just spoke to Suzanne (who has been contracting for years and years), and she said it's really simple, and I can just go to the CCRA office in person when we move to BC, and she said it took her only 24 hours to get her number.
So phew. I'll go on Tuesday the second, and that'll give me 4 work days until I start (the 8th), and far more work days before I'll have to give them their first invoice. That'll be ok. It'll all work out!
So I sent a formal acceptance of the contract.
But anyway, the point is - *I'm* responsible for my taxes! They're going to pay me full out. That means $4000/month. AND Suzanne said if I save 25% of my income that'll be more than enough for when tax season comes around. Which is less than when you're an employee - that's usually 33% at least.
(So what I'm going to do is throw a whole bunch of money at credit cards for the first couple of months, then start with the saving...)
Sweet.
This money is going to be kick ASS. I'll ABSOLUTELY be able to pay off my debt quickly. We are going to be solvent. This is awesome. We'll be able to pay our debts and I'll be able to support him through school, and everything is going to work out.
I'm so excited!
I'll be starting on the 8th. That's going to give us plenty of time to settle in, start decorating, get me a wardrobe, get a business number, and relax after 3 days of driving.
WOOHOO!!!!!
Only 5 days left of work after today.
