I faxed in my signed offer letter today. Now I feel just that little bit more secure about the job.
I've been doing one of the things I have the most fun doing - figuring out our budget and credit card debt and seeing how the budget will go until the end of January. Sweetness. I'll be getting my credit card debt down by about 4 thousand dollars, PLUS paying for the expense of the move, and exercise machine (hopefully an ellipse), a computer, and dental appointments for Andrew and myself (probably just cleaning for him, and cleaning and minor sealant work for me), and Christmas, including saving for tax time, while barely utilizing Andrew's earning potential (he's going to pay for Christmas, but I didn't put anything else he makes into the budget - I figure we can save for more new clothes, or a trip, or something else fun).
That's good. I feel calm about the situation, we're going to do well.
In other news, I found another ad for a place in Vancouver. A top floor condo, 2 bedrooms, 800 square feet, with a washer and dryer and deck, pets are ok, for $850 monthly. Andrew's folks are going to look at it on Saturday.
When we called to tell them, they told us they'd made an appointment with the other place we were hoping for, for 10am Saturday morning. It helped me feel more relaxed that they had made an appointment, more as if I could count on them, and the place wouldn't be gone before they got there. Woohoo!
This first place has 3 suites available - a 2 bedroom for $750, a 2 bedroom with den for $850, and a 3 bedroom for $875. I don't know square footage. If the 2 bedroom is 650 square feet or more, we'll take that one. If not, and the rest of the building/area/etc is ok, we'll take the 3 bedroom.
The 3 bedroom would be rad, because then we can have a project room (for carpentry, sewing, art, and t-shirt printing), an office/spare room (for writing, computer work, etc), and bedroom.
But the 2 bedroom would be rad because it's $100 cheaper than our budget, which would be cool. (I'd probably use it for a transit pass)
I admit, too, that I'm excited about the 800 square foot place, merely because it has a washer and dryer IN THE APARTMENT. I haven't had my very own washer and dryer since I lived with my folks. I'm tempted to say "I'll take it!" even without seeing it. But I won't, that wouldn't be right. Or something.
(*sigh* what a lovely daydream... a project room, my own washer and dryer, and a bright and shiny new apartment that we've decorated ourselves, with lots of wood furniture that Andrew made......)

That reminds me, you were in a dream I had last night. We went traipsing around the streets of Chinatown, early early in the morning. I was wearing big rainboots. You saw this pint of spiced olives that you really wanted, so I bought them for you. :-)
Congrat!
