getting better
Aug. 22nd, 2003 09:48 amLast night we went for a last dinner with a woman from work. We had sushi, yes yes I know, we had sushi AGAIN.
But anyway.
We went to Taka sushi, as usual. None of our usual wait staff was there, but there were still people I recognized.
The reason I mention that is because there was something wrong with my California Roll. I think the avocado was bad. It just tasted icky.
I've never had any problems with this place before, so I hesitated to mention it, but then Andrew pointed out that I shouldn't have to pay for bad food, that I deserve better.
So.
I mentioned it. And this guy (the one I recognised) said to me "it's not possible, the avocado is new today, so is the crab, everything is new from the supplier today!"
And I said "I come here a lot, we always get California Roll, I've never had a problem, but today it tastes BAD."
And he said again that it wasn't possible! I had to PAY for the california roll, and he didn't replace it with a better one, or anything.
That is NOT customer service. I mean, forget about the fact that I'm a regular (at least, until next friday). At any time, if a customer complains about food tasting BAD, you should do something for them! Offer to make a new roll. Offer to have them not pay for it. SOMETHING.
Fuck.
It angered me. If I'd known what the customer service was like there, I doubt I'd have gone there that much in the last year.
The guy who sits next to me at work is extremely LOUD. He is frighteningly loud. So much so that my ear hurts every day after work, my jaw gets tired from clenching, and when I'm on the phone with a client and he's talking, I can't hear the client.
I decided not to say anything, since he doesn't work on Saturday and Sunday, and I only have today and Monday with him. But the woman who works on the other side of him said today how loud he is, and asked him to quiet down, so I chimed in. Why not?
He's talking to a client right now, and he's wonderfully quiet. I hope it keeps up!
I just found out they're having a going away pizza party for me today. I'm verklempt. I didn't think they'd have anything! People leave here all the time.
Andrew has decided I'm not so much like Aphrodite, but more like Athena. He said I'm his beautiful warrior goddess who's wise.
He just keeps getting better.

Date: 2003-08-22 09:10 am (UTC)You and your hubby are adorable. I hope to find someone like that one day.
Now if my co-worker would only shut up. Me telling her to be quiet worked for about a day.
