Not a good morning.

NOT. A. GOOD. MORNING.

I woke up at 5am and started thinking about my glasses. They make my eyes cross, they're too strong, or something. My eyes should NOT BE CROSSING. I shouldn't feel nauseated from turning my head. I shouldn't have extremely tired eyes after a day. I shouldn't get headaches from looking at things.

Yesterday evening I broke down and started wearing my old glasses again. Within 5 minutes my eyes were more relaxed. My right eye was still tired, but at least I could look at things 5 feet away without strain.

I tried for 3 fucking days to acclimate to these glasses.

So I woke up at 5am, worried that it's going to be difficult to get my glasses fixed, worried that I've hurt my eyes, these past 3 days, just worried. And stressed. I got more and more frustrated and stressed.

I ended up leaving messages for my mother, trying to find the number of my childhood eye dr to see if he has my last prescription, so I can have it in hand for the new guy.

I'm angry, too, because this new guy hurried me out of his examining room. It's not a good first look at BC Medical. Ontario doctors take their time with you, man. And they're the ones getting paid by the government!

Yes, you Ontario detractors, Ontario really does have something going for it.

Damn, am I pissed.

So I called today once I got to work, to tell them about the problems. The eye strain and crossing, the left frame arm that's all wonky and won't sit on my ear properly, and the CHIP IN THE RIGHT LENS.

So the woman says to me "There's a note here that says the frame didn't fit your face and you knew about it when you got the glasses"

Bitch.

I replied "Yes, the NOSE PIECE didn't fit me, but the arm of the glasses should sit on my ear properly."

God damn. They were just waiting to tell me it was all my fault.

Well, it's not my fault your fucking prescription is wrong, bastards.

My mom is going to call my old doctor. She doesn't want to, because she thinks my brother screwed up her relationship with the eye dr (it's a long story), but I explained to her that the only reason I could call this morning was my early rising, and that I can't call after work - I get home after 6, which is after 9 their time. So she's going to try. Hopefully I'll have a prescription and phone number in hand when I go see this new guy again on Thursday.

(Oh yeah, and because my mom called just as I was going out the door, and wanted to chatter, I ran all the way to the bus stop, but missed my bus anyway)

But I'm getting REALLY tired of going to doctors after work. It's hard on me. I just want to go home and relax, and that is NOT too much to ask for.

Tomorrow I have a doctors appointment. I haven't met the guy before, but I have to get a pap. Oh joy. And talk to him about my ear, and the scar tissue that keeps getting bigger, there. (What are those called, I forget? They happen sometimes when you get pierced? Well, my right ear has two of them, and the top one may or may not be getting bigger, and that's just WRONG.)

Then Thursday is the eye dr. Again. And it won't be pretty, because I'm not going to be fucking nice, these are my EYES we're talking about, and I paid $60 for my appointment last time, and then $321 for the fucking glasses, and they WILL fix the fucking problem, quickly, accurately, apologetically, and for fucking free.

Oh yes.

They will.

I hate wrong-prescription headaches. I've been getting some headaches I think are sleeping-on-neck-wrong headaches, but might be wrong-prescription headaches. Ug. Sympathy.

Be thankful...

Yes, you Ontario detractors, Ontario really does have something going for it.

I couldn't agree more, and on Thursday, our new government is going to be headed up by a genuine "evil reptillian kitten-eater from another planet". Ernie Eves told me so.

Cracks me up more than anything else has done in a long time :-)...

You didn't go to Wal-Mart, did you?

Sounds like the exact thing that happened to Scott. Only it happened three times, with three pairs of glasses. You don't have Wal-Marts in Canada, do you?

At any rate, never go to Wal-Mart for glasses unless you have a really light prescription. I hope you can get new ones soon. Feeling croos-eyed all day is definitely no fun.

No, it wasn't walmart, it was an honest to god extra expensive optometrist. bastard.

We do have walmart here, but in my right eye, my prescription is -7.5 with a rotation of 2.5 x 90, so not light at all.

I'm wearing my old glasses, so that's getting me by until then.

Empathy

Those BC doctors need a little bit of empathy. I'm feeling it for them.

I think that type of scar tissue is called "hypertrophic".

Have you heard from Suzanne about me going with you on your tattooing day? I've got the day off so it's all yours.

And here I thought they were keloids.

I'd demand another eye exam, on top of everything else. (Did you mention that?)
Astigmatism? I haven't gotten corrections for mine - in both eyes - but it's not bad at all in my case. *hugs you* I'm sorry things are like this now. It'll change soon! ~ Youmna
