Well, lots of things have happened in the last couple of days.

That does seem to be the way our lives usually go, though.

My job is doing better. I'm feeling more comfortable in everything. For one, I pulled my team lead aside to make sure that we were ok - I told her it was important to me that we have a good relationship, and that I didn't want her to think I was being antagonistic when I spoke, just that I was blunt, and that I wanted to make sure that when we joke together, that's all it is. And it is, it's all good, and she's been just that little bit more attentive since then, if I need to say something, and not just laughing it off.

Plus, I went to the Burnaby office (for an internal review, but I'll talk about that later) yesterday, and I like it! I wasn't sure if I would, but it's cool. The client is pretty laid back, everyone is set up in pods (which is fine), and "Business Casual" apparently means "Casual, only pretend it's business casual", which is DEFINITELY fine with me. And it's closer to home. It's about 45 minutes each way instead of 1 1/4 hours.

And the internal review - the reviewer had NOTHING BAD TO SAY about my test plans!!! NOTHING!!!! That rocked HARD. So yeah, I know that I'm doing just fine.

Also, on Tuesday, Andrew got a JOB! It's in a warehouse for a big grocery supply chain thing, it's basically manual labour, but it's UNION. He starts at $9.30, with raises every couple of hundred hours, it's only 25 hours a week to start (but that's all he needs), there's high turnover, so if he sticks with it he'll have sweet sweet hour choosing action (and if he ever needs more hours, he can just ask for them), PLUS after 500 hours they give you a bonus of $1500 !!! And after 500 MORE hours, another bonus, of $1000 !!! AND if you work faster than the speed they ask for, they pay you 50 cents on the hour more than your wage (so if he works at 110% the speed they ask for, for that shift he'll get paid $10.30/hr instead of $9.30)

We are SO excited. We went out to dinner to celebrate. (Diet? WHAT diet? I'll just be fat forever. It'll be fun, I promise.)

However, he had to postpone his start date, because YESTERDAY the movie guy called him back to ask him to please please please come be in the movie. (!)

So Andrew is going away for two weeks after all. He'll be leaving tomorrow morning, early, and not coming back until the 14th or so. I'm going to miss him a LOT, but I'm also going to enjoy living the Bachelorette life for a while. I'm going to be a total dork, and go to bed early, be very strict on my diet, exercise lots while watching tv, and do lots of cooking. Oh, and work extra, so I can take that time off to go to Toronto at the end of the month. It'll be wonderful.

Tonight I go to the eye doctor and get everything settled. As it turns out, he really needed to spend more time on me. My right eye is NOT -5.00 - 1.75, as he said, but is in fact -7.50 + 2.50 x 90. (Not that that means anything to most or any of you). Or at least, it was for these old glasses I'm wearing now, that do NOT cause my eyes to strain or cross. I'm ready for a good fight, but I'm hoping for a great customer service experience.

Last night I went to the doctor to get a scrip for more birth control pills. Not ONLY did I not have to have a pap, but he gave me a scrip for a whole year, and when I went to find out how much it would cost, it was NOT $20 a hit, as it is in Toronto, but is only $13.66 each!!!! Sweet ASS. Again I surprised the pharmacist by my glee, I had to explain the price difference. He was shocked.

Things are cheaper here. That's GOOD. It almost makes up for my dud eye guy. And yes, after fixing this, I'll be going somewhere else next time (Which shouldn't be for quite some time).

Awesome on the goodness! (I'd list them, but. . . I'm pretty much citing the whole entry.)

About your note. . . Why would you want to stretch the soaz muscles? (As soon as I read your note, I tried to go down my mental list of streches I do, to see if I do any soaz streches.) ~ Youmna

I'm glad things are going good for you -- it's a bummer that Andrew has to be gone for two weeks but the time will pass by quickly ;)
