good moods are easy to achieve...
Oct. 17th, 2003 09:32 amLast night was good.
I was afraid it wouldn't be, since we had a chiropractor appointment at 6:30, which wasn't going to get us home until 7 at the earliest, and that could make my evening time minimal, and we all know how upset that makes me.
But, instead, I realized that now that I work out in the evenings, I can sleep in until 7am (!), and so I can stay up until 11. Last month I couldn't do that, because I'd started taking my birth control pills at 6:15. and the pills I'm taking are so low hormone that I can't even be half an hour late taking them, or I get spotting. (But anyway) So I would wake up at 6:15, take my pill, then try to sleep for 45 more minutes, but of course that didn't actually work, so I'd never be really well rested. But all that has changed, huzzah!
For dinner I made oatmeal pancakes with turkey bacon, and it was very enjoyable. We didn't eat until 8, but that's ok. I'm getting used to that. Aaron called while I was washing the dishes, so we talked for about 1/2 an hour. Aaron is the only person I know who talks quickly enough that I don't get bored. Seriously! It took me a year and a half to get used to Andrew's slow and thoughtful speech, and still sometimes I get frustrated because he takes a long time to say things.
And now I'm in B.C., home of the slow talkers!!!! AAAAAAGGGGGHHHHH!!!!
Anyway, Aaron was speaking particularly quickly last night, because he's been working crazy hours to get a product released. He pulled an all nighter on Monday night and Wednesday night. So he's low on sleep and his brain is racing because he's thinking of all the stuff he has to do and whatnot, so his mouth is moving a mile a minute. I get like that too.
But it meant for a great conversation.
Damn, I'm getting hungry already. :(
Anyway. Got off the phone with Aaron, and Andrew and I started the movie we rented (we have a bunch of coupons for free movie rentals from Rogers), The Replacement Killers, and I climbed on the ellipse for 45 minutes while my Sultan of Pillows lounged on the floor.
Speaking of the Replacement Killers - I've seen it before, and I really like it. One of the reasons I like it is Mira Sorvino's character. She's a strong, independant, sexual, yet not overtly sexualized woman. She's witty, too. I love it! And if any of you remember my rant from after XMen came out this summer, about female characters (and the lack of real ones) in movies, this is a big deal for me.
So anyway. We watched the movie. I did my ellipsing, then stretched. It was nice! I slept well last night, too. Always a plus.
And here's some great things:
1) It's FRIDAY!!!! And even better, the FRIDAY of my BIRTHDAY WEEKEND!!!!
2) I realized that as much as I've been complaining I'm waiting for a lot of things, I HAVE done and gotten things I want for right now - for example, the ellipse I worked out on last night. I have, for a long time, wanted a work out room, and we HAVE one!!
3) In just ONE WEEK, I will be in Ontario, seeing my friends and family.
4) Andrew is STILL HOME!!!!!!
Now if I can just settle down and get some work done...

Date: 2003-10-17 10:47 am (UTC)You would totally hate having a conversation with me. I am a -very- slow talker, if I talk at all. Texans, you know, just tend to take a while in saying things.
On the other hand, I find fast talkers to be creepy. You are scary like drug addicts!
